Team Update

Over the past couple of weeks, our team celebrated the birthdays of the oldest (David) and youngest (newborn, AnnaMarie) members of our team, along with a couple more sandwiched in between (Graham and Hannah). Last weekend, we had a fantastic trip to the game park with the mission team working in southern Togo and our friends from Kara, the Friesens.

Representatives from the Kabiye churches meet the past week in Kara to discuss the upcoming All-Church Retreat and report on the works going on in their regions. The meeting was an encouraging and productive time for everyone involved.

This past weekend, especially, was full! We celebrated Hannah's 8th birthday on Friday afternoon at the Kara pool with teammates and friends, enjoyed hosting the Koonce family on the way to and from Pendjari Game Park and also Mark Berryman on the return trip. We were blessed with a wonderful safari with our teammates and colleagues from Tabligbo last weekend as well as the Friesen family from here in Kara. We were also blessed to participate in prayer with our overseeing congregation in Richland on their day of prayer this past Saturday and were thankful to hear that it was an encouraging day for so many of our brothers and sisters in that congregation. David has had good village visits, especially in Bodowda this past Friday. Thank you for praying for the struggling group of Christians in Bodowda and please continue to pray for them to believe God will do what He says He will do in their lives and in the lives of those who come to him.

Our family has had a lot of sickness. Gabriel had malaria last week and Becky and Elijah have just found out in the last day from blood tests that they have the beginnings of typhoid fever. Gabriel has recovered from malaria and we are glad to be able to start Becky and Elijah's' treatments early on and hope they will recover quickly. Unfortunately the typhoid vaccine is only 70% effective and we sometimes get this weakening sickness. Please pray for their full and quick recovery. Becky and Caleb along with Tracey Ries are also preparing to leave for the Come Before Winter Women's Renewal in Kenya one week from now. Please pray for their travel preparations both on the roads and in the air. May God bless you this week with the full assurance of His grace and love towards you! Love, The Reeves family
