Kabiye Team News Team Update This week we are praising God for answered prayers as Aidan's surgery went well and the Kennells have new leads for support. Please keep Aidan's recovery from the surgery, as well as the upcoming interviews of the Kennells, in your prayers. Also, pray for the safe arrival and quick clearing of the Emerson's container which was supposed to be in port this week, but has been delayed until February 10th. The Kabiye churches are beginning to make preparations for the annual All-Church Retreat, which is taking place in just over two months. Pray that God will continue to mold us into one body, unified in Jesus Christ with the single purpose of helping the Kingdom break into this world. Finally, we'd like to ask you to continue to pray for the Kara Bon Berger church which needs inspiration and direction (as well as a new place to meet). Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr Life is good in the Reeves' household. We praise God that Aidan Miller came through his surgery successfully this last week and enjoyed getting to talk to him on the phone. David plowed a big area of our yard up on Wednesday to get ready to plant some sweet corn, with hopes of a harvest in a couple of months. He's spent quite a bit of time working on train and multiply materials this week, as well as preparing lessons for church maturation. He and Elijah also had a great time on safari this last weekend. Becky is thankful that Caleb is taking more predictable naps and has had some productive time working on the literacy primer. Hannah is enjoying school and creating "Ice Twins" scripts with Isaac Ries. (They are writing, drawing, and acting out stories about a boy and girl superheroes called the Ice Twins) Elijah is trying to read everything he can find, euphoric that he is able to sound out so many words around him. Gabriel is enjoying preschool, learning about colors, continuing to be potty trained (yay!), dancing and singing, (especially his favorite song "Jesus loves me" which enters his repertoire at least once a day). Caleb is enjoying his first couple of weeks of eating solid foods, is napping more predictably during the day, and is laughing and practicing his newest sound which resembles a dry cough! On our hearts this week, especially, has been the struggling church here in Kara. We ask you to please join us in bold prayer for God to move powerfully in this city, calling people out of darkness and into his wonderful light. Thank you so much for your prayers for our Kabiye brothers and sisters here, our team of families, and the adjustments we continually make. Please continue to pray for the Emersons and Rachel as they adjust to life here and all that it entails, as well as the Miller family ministering in Searcy and others who are preparing to join our team in the future. May God bless you! Please be sure to check out our blogs for pictures and more detailed updates about stories. Thanks! |
