Team Update

Greetings everyone. We have some great news from Kabiyeland to share with you.

First, two weeks ago, elders were installed in Soumdina Po Wayi. Elders from the churches in N'Djei, Ewede, Sogode and Lassa Tchou all cam to help commission these leaders to the Lord. It was a great day of celebration, fellowship and encouragement. Pray that these elders will be true servant leaders, walking in the path of Christ.

Secondly, 40 people were baptized into Christ last week in the N'Djei cluster. New members were added to the N'Djei, Sogode and Ewede churches and a family of Jesus was established in the village of Kayahte. We rejoice with these churches at these new births.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Greetings from the Reeves Clan. Since our last update, we have enjoyed a great time of fellowship with the Watchi team during a late Thanksgiving celebration and our annual missionary kids' Sports Camp that took place over the first weekend of December. We enjoyed getting to know Amy and Emily (the teachers for the Watchi Team) a little better and spending more time with the Crowsons and Koonces as well as the Friesen family, directors of the SIL center here in Kara. Thank you for prayers for Gabriel's hand. It is healed up and looking much better! Hannah has been writing poems in school and Elijah has really enjoyed learning about the orchestra and starting subtraction in math this week. Caleb is continuing to grow and is as cute and adorable as ever. All of the children have had sniffles this week, including Caleb. Becky is also recovering from strep throat. Please pray for healing for our family, especially Caleb as he is so small.

We are concentrating a lot of our thoughts and efforts on preparing for the Emerson family's arrival at the beginning of January, as well as the arrival of our new 3rd grade teacher, Rachel Phillips. We have really enjoyed having Katie here and are grateful for the wonderful, creative job she has done teaching Hannah and Isaac! We will miss her. We look forward to getting to know Rachel and are so glad the Lord has sent her our way in such a timely manner! Please pray for both the Emerson family and Rachel as they arrive and pray for our family and the Ries family as we minister to them and help them get settled. Other big news for us is that propane gas bottles arrived in Kara on Thursday! They were all sold within a couple of hours, but a friend who works for SIL sold our family and the Ries family 2 bottles each. We are thankful to have a way to continue cooking on our stove for awhile. Apparently, the machine that fills them in the capitol city of Lome' has been broken for quite some time and there has been a shortage of gas bottles all over the country. Becky was beginning to plan some outdoor cooking African style, but it looks like she'll get to put it off a little bit longer!

David has had another fruitful last two weeks of work in the villages. Please continue to pray for the villages of Bodowda and Legue Legue as they still seem to be struggling to find their first foundations of faith in God and pray for the Lord to give David and Bryan wisdom as they continue to teach people about knowing God. Pray also for the chief in Tchefengda to surrender his life to Christ. He has a desire to follow Jesus, but is hesitant to fully commit. Check out David's blog later this week for a story about some of the foot washing lessons he has taught recently.

May the Lord bless you during this holiday season. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers! We always want to hear how to pray for each of you. Drop us an email anytime! Love, the Reeves family
