Team Update

Happy Thanksgiving from the Kabiye Team! We all have so much to be thankful for and we pray that this season brings the blessings God has poured out on you more into focus.

One thing we are especially thankful for is your prayer support. Please continue to pray for the Kabiye churches as they seek to grow in Christ and share him with others. Also pray for the Emersons as they wind down their time in France and prepare to move here next January, for the Millers as they minister to students at Harding University and for the Kennells as they search for a sponsoring congregation and raise support.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Praise God for His faithfulness! We are so thankful for the mighty and everyday things He has done for us. During this week of the Thanksgiving holiday we are so thankful to be called His children and it has been such a great privilege to work with Him over these past couple of weeks. God has truly been good to us. Gabriel burnt his hand pretty badly last week when he stuck it into the ashes of a huge fire that our day guardian had lit in our compound. This is the season of burning and David asked him to clear away some brush in the corner without specific instructions of how to do it. The result was a fire with 40 foot flames while he was in the village and Becky policing the children to keep them away from it. While she was nursing Caleb, Gabriel disobeyed and stuck his hand in the ashes with flames still underneath and received a direct object lesson about what fire does. Please continue to pray for Gabe's healing. His burn is healing well and he has been a trooper through all of the washings and bandaging. Otherwise things have been fairly routine for our family. Allergy problems have decreased significantly with the coming of the Harmattan and that makes things easier physically. Caleb is growing well and is such a joy! (See his picture with Essowe) Hannah, Elijah, and Gabe are all enjoying school and the neat things they are learning. Tracey and Katie are doing a wonderful job!

We have had a bunch of work done on our dependence to make it possible to house visitors. It should be done in time to host some of the Tabligbo team for our late Thanksgiving celebration and Sports Camp for our children at the end of next week. We are really enjoying our new house and compound. The kids have so much room to run and play and David is like a new person with all of the yard and flowers and room to breathe. We are so very thankful to God for all the blessings that have come with our move. We are also thankful for the vehicle that the Lord has provided through many of you for us to get out to villages and have reliable transportation. (See picture of David driving it down the road to our house.)

The work in the different congregations is going really well and David's teaching times have been very rewarding over the last couple of weeks. The message of God's presence and the presence of his kingdom in our lives has been received with great enthusiasm. The truth that everything grows and flows from our relationship with God and our knowledge and understanding of Him is so foundational and it is good to see them soaking up these truths. Please pray for God to continue to open the hearts and minds of Kabiye Christians to these truths and for David as he teaches. Pray for the villages of Ajadaa, Hade Te, Kaacaade, Bodowdaa, Tchefengda, Legue Legue and Lassa Tchou. Becky continues to plod away at the Kabiye literacy primer and is enlisting the help of her friend and language teacher, Essowe. She hopes to be able to try it out with a group of women by March. We love each of you and are thankful everyday for the partnership that we share in the proclamation of God's saving grace through Jesus.

May God bless you!
The Reeves
