Team Update

First things first. We'd like to introduce to you the newest member of our team, Caleb Joseph Reeves. He was born on August 23rd. Check out the Reeves' entry below to read more about his arrival. Also this week, the Emersons moved to language school in France, Matt started his first week of teaching at Harding University and the Rieses returned to Africa. A lot is going on, read about it below!

TEACHER UPDATE: We have a teacher for this school year! Katie Skipper, will be joining us at the end of September to teach in our school. Even though enrollment will be down, we are so excited to have Katie's help. She has traveled extensively and has a big heart for children and missions. Thank God for Katie's willingness to come and teach. Also, please keep her preparations and travel in your prayers.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Greetings from the Reeves family! We've had a medically full week and many praises to give to the Lord for his sweetness to us and gracious gifts of wellness and health!

On Monday, Hannah had oral surgery. She had four teeth pulled, crowns put on 6 molars and a spacer/retainer placed on the roof of her mouth to keep spaces open for the permanent teeth to come in where her baby teeth were pulled. She did a great job in the surgery, recovered well from the general anesthesia, and has had little to no pain in her mouth following the procedure. We are so very thankful to God for the opportunity to have had this dental work done here, for a competent surgeon, and for her speedy recovery!

On Wednesday, Becky's doctor gave us an opportunity to induce labor as she was already dilated three centimeters and other things were in place for our little one to be born. This was all new to us as she has never been induced with pitocin or had her water broken until just before she was about to give birth. The labor was much longer than her last two, as a result, but well worth the time and differences! Her huge tummy over the last few weeks was a result of at least 2 gallons of fluid that rushed out when the doctor broke her water! The attending nurse said she had never seen close to that much fluid and the doctor was glad to have been able to have her in a medical setting when it happened as there were dangers involved with a rush of that much fluid.

Our sweet little Caleb Joseph arrived at 11:41pm on August 23rd, weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 ozs. He has had no problems so far, is a great eater, and is as sweet as can be! We are overwhelmed by the Lord's goodness and grace to us! He was so sweet to us through the provision of a believing and compassionate doctor and sweet nursing staff, and family and friends lifting us up in prayer throughout the last few months with preterm labor and constant contractions. For more information on his birth and further pictures, check our blogspot in the next few days for a current post. Thank you for your prayers and love for us!
