Team Update

The Kabiye team continues our physical separation from the people we love in Togo, though our spirits are with them. The Rieses are finishing up their furlough, and will be returning to Togo shortly. The Reeves continue to await the birth of their fourth child in Washington. The Millers are about to begin a year of teaching and recruiting at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. We also have the joy of making a special announcement that after a time of prayer and healing, Mark and Nicole Kennell are preparing to return to Togo and continue their work among the Kabiye and to hopefully begin a new phase of our work, beginning with the Kabre (who are related to the Kabiye). We want to praise the Lord that He has brought them back to this place and is sending them back to continue the work that He has appointed them to do, and we ask for your prayers that God will provide them with all they need to be able to return to Togo. The Kabiye Team is currently working with 17churches and 5 preaching points.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Greetings from the Reeves family. We are still in Washington state getting closer to the long-awaited birth of our fourth child. Becky is officially 37 weeks into her pregnancy and we are so thankful to the Lord for bringing this baby to full term. Please pray with us for a healthy delivery as the time draws near. We praise God that this little one turned on his own head down the night before we went to the hospital this last week to have the doctor try and turn him. He's been breech for some time and we're hoping he decides to keep his head down this time!

Hannah and Elijah had their last YMCA soccer games this past week and finished up their swimming lessons at the pool down the street. It's been a fun summer for them here, with lots of activities and opportunities to learn new skills and make new friends. Gabe also enjoyed swimming in the big pool without floaties this week and jumping off the diving board and making it to the side. He's a natural in the water!

We are so very thankful for the release of our vehicle in Togo from the port this past week! Praise God that Anthony Parker, a former missionary on the southern mission team in Tabligbo, had enough cfa for us to borrow to get the car released with the help and footwork of another colleague on the Tabligbo team, Murphy Crowson. We are still waiting for the Lord to provide the remaining funds we need to pay Anthony back, and ask that you continue to pray with us for God to provide as He always does.

Becky has been sporadically working on a Kabiye literacy primer over the past month and a half and is really looking forward to seeing it completed after we return to Togo and trying it out with a group of Christians, especially women, who can't read. Please begin praying with us for many Kabiye people to begin to learn to read so that they can study the Bible for themselves. We also covet your prayers for David as he continues to put much effort into lessons and sermons for the body here in Richland. We are very encouraged to see God working in many of the conversations and teachings here over the past month and it has made us excited to return to Togo with many spiritual truths solidifying in our hearts during our time in the states. May God bless you!
