Team Update

Togo witnessed a total eclipse this week. We saw only a partial eclipse in Kara, but we all were impressed anyways. (This picture was taken down in southern Togo.) Our team has enjoyed a great visit with our friend and mentor, Mark Berryman. We've been proud to introduce Kabiye church leaders to him and vice versa.

Please continue to pray for the various evangelistic efforts that are taking place in Kabiyeland. Also, please pray for the all-church retreat which will take place in only a couple of weeks. The Kabiye team is currently working with 16 churches and 6 preaching points.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

We've had a blessed time with our long time friend and mentor, Mark Berryman, who was here visiting our team from Wednesday until Sunday. What an encouragement it was for him to tell the story to different Kabiye Christians of his first survey of Kabiyeland 16 years ago and now, to see that the gospel has entered the hearts of believers all over this region. He and David also visited the original village we surveyed as interns in 1996. This village still does not have any Christians living there. Even still, in this stronghold of traditional religion the people remembered them and were very receptive to the gospel being preached in their village. Dave also had very encouraging visits to Legue Legue and Bodowda this week doing character studies on Gideon and David.

Our family is still functioning, if at a bit of a different level, with Becky's need to stay sitting/laying whenever contractions come on. The ob/gyn in Tchico told us that her main goal is to avoid contractions as this is what caused the bleeding a couple of weeks ago. He also gave her prophylactic antibiotics against UTIs to take until the end of her pregnancy. David has been helping a lot as well as our houseworkers and teammates. This is a challenging season for her but God has been blessing her with extra time with Him and with our children. Graciously, the Lord has been continuing to affirm us through His word and through others that a time of rest and waiting is where she needs to be for now. Please pray for our family over the next few months as we adjust to a slower pace for Becky and pray for Becky to be able to resist the attacks of the evil one on her mind and heart as she is less active physically.

Our other big news is that we are in the process of moving to another house here in Kara. Our house of the last five years has some major structural damage that we just recently found out that it is irreparable without significant cost and time. Thankfully, the Lord has graciously provided us with another house not too far from the one we are in now. The house itself is smaller, but the yard is much bigger so all of our children and pets are excited about extra space to run around and explore! Please pray for this transition for our whole family as this is the first home we've had as a family and it is hard to leave it with all of our fond memories and friends and visitors we've hosted here over the past 5 1/2 years. May God bless you! Thank you so much for your prayers. They make all the difference! Love, The Reeves family
