Team Update

Dry season is building time here in Kabiyeland and many of the churches are working to build meeting places. The Sokode church has finished half of their new building (pictured left). This coming week, the Legue Legue, Po Wayi and Kaacaade churches will be putting up their buildings as well. Also, this past week, the team men enjoyed their annual camping trip at the Pendjari Game Park in Benin where they saw ton of elephants, antelope, buffalo, monkeys and a lion. The Kabiye team is working with 16 churches and 4 preaching points throughout Kabiyeland.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Hello from our family and greetings to each of you. This past week has been packed with activity and fun. We will start with some family stuff. Hannah and Elijah celebrated their birthdays with a joint Star Wars party. They had Luke and Leia outfits made for themselves and all of their friends and then played games which included light saber fights using pool noodles. They all had a good time. Hannah is now seven (March 15) and Elijah is five (January 13). We love them so much and they are growing up so fast. Please pray for them and for their upcoming new year of experiences and growth. Gabriel is doing well and his personality is really being seen more as he plays with his siblings and friends and learns more and more how to express himself in words.

We want to share some more family news that we haven’t completely leaked out to everyone yet. Becky is pregnant and is in her eleventh week! Her due date will be approximately the first week in September. We are really excited and thankful that God has seen to bless us in this way. Please be praying daily for Becky and the little one that is growing inside her “tummy.” The kids are all very excited to know that another child is in process.

Work is going well. David spent time in Legue Legue this past week and also did an overnight seminar on evangelism in Sanda Te. The Legue Christians are doing well and moving closer to their beginning of evangelism in Nyikpawayi. David also continued their study of the letter to the Colossians. This coming Tuesday, David will be going out bright and early to help them complete their first permanent meeting place. Pray for these folks that God will work mightily in their midst and through them to reach out to others.

The seminar in Te went well also and was centered on encouraging them to begin evangelism in a nearby village. They also talked a lot about praying for and loving their non-Christian wives so that somehow they might be won to Christ. These ladies need your prayers as they are most certainly being controlled by Satan and are at the moment unable to make a decision to follow Jesus. Also pray for David as he will soon begin researching some of the northern areas of Kabiye land to choose a place to begin a new preaching point. Pray that God’s hand will guide us to a place of open hearts that are willing to learn and obey the words of God. Thanks for your prayers. -- The Reeves
