Team Update

This past week was jam-packed with a team ladies’ retreat, team prayer day, 3 birthdays (Peter, Elijah & Owen), 2 overnight seminars (in Tchikpe and Ajadaa), 2 showings of the Jesus film (in Tankoda and Soumdina Po Wayi) and a special dinner for all of our house workers. The ladies had a great time in Benin (see picture on left at The Port of No Return) and made it home safely. The prayer day was challenging and uplifting and there were good turnouts for the seminars and film showings. We thank the Lord for blessing each of these endeavors and for your prayers on our behalf. Also, thank you for praying for Wayne Kennell, father of our former teammate Mark Kennell, who is now expected to recover fully after suffering a heart attack just over a week ago. The Kabiye team is currently working with 16 churches and 4 teaching points throughout Kabiyeland.

Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr

Iiiiiiiiiit’s ladies week here in Togo! Becky went along with the other ladies on the team to a resort in southern Benin for a two night getaway/retreat. They enjoyed canoeing on the lagoon, biking around the lagoon and of course making each other up for a nice evening dinner. They had a much deserved great time together and made it back safe and sound to sane and controlled households. Also this week Becky and the other ladies took all of our house-workers out to a nice dinner on the town. It was time to say thank you to all of the ladies who help us so much in our homes. They had a good time together.

Our family is doing reasonably well over all. We have had some sickness in the family. Gabriel endured a few days of malaria and amoebas, David is just now getting over a bout with bronchitis and Becky has been enduring some days of nausea. Please pray for us as we work through the sickness and get back on our feet completely. Elijah celebrated his 5th birthday this week. He is really growing up fast and is feeling five years old. Looking back at some older pictures, it is hard to believe he has grown so much and is now learning so many things in kindergarten. Praise God with us for the wonderful gift Elijah is to us all. Hannah is doing great and lately has been crazy about Star Wars. She is “in love” with Luke Skywalker and spend too much time talking about any subject having to do with him. She is a hoot!

Things are going well in the villages. We would ask you to pray for the villages of Legue Legue and Bodowdaa as they make preparations for evangelism in the villages of Nyikpa Wayi and Nyaode. They have been preparing for some time and soon will begin those works. Pray that they will have courage and confidence in God to teach through His strength alone and that many will come to hear the Good News that they have to share. We know God will do great things. Also pray that the Kara church members can begin to share the message of Christ with friends and family here in Kara. Pray also that God will strengthen the leaders of the Kara church.

We pray God’s blessings on each of you! You are each such a blessing to us and such an important part of our team and the work that is being done here in Kabiye land. May the Lord be praised! We love you all. The Reeves
