Reeves Family Update - kabiye4christ@yahoo.fr Seasons Greetings! As we watch the dust slowly collect on everything in and out of our houses and as we feel the strong Harmattan winds whip our dry, cracked skin we think fondly of below freezing weather in the states and snow and bustling activity and our friends and family and miss you. Believe it or not, the weather here feels more like Christmas to us as a family as we've spent every Christmas here for the last 5 years. The dust and burning fires on the mountains and charred black bits of crops floating through the air and landing in our hair are the "Christmas time" triggers for our children, so in a sense they've become that to us, too! We're looking forward to this week of celebration and pray that the next few days are special and sweet to all of you, too! Please pray for the village of Bodowda as David partners with them to continue evangelizing in their village and then soon after in a neighboring village. Pray for the Christians to hear from the Lord where they should begin evangelizing next. Also, we covet your prayers, as a team, for our Kabiye brothers and sisters here who are forming their own traditions as a church for this celebrating time of year. Worldly traditions of lots of food and alcohol and drunkenness and carousing are just as much a part of the typical celebrations we see in Kabiyeland this time of year as they are in the states. Please pray that many other churches will follow the examples of the N'Djei cluster and Lassa Tchou churches in celebrating Jesus and choosing Godly ways of celebrating with one another around this time of year. We love you and may God bless you with the peace of Jesus that surpasses all understanding!! Love, The Reeves family |
