Team Update
 |
This week our team celebrated the change in season (wet to
dry) with a ‘Harvest Party’. We all enjoyed games, tasty treats
and performances by the Kindergarten and 2nd grade classes.
Also, David and Matt have traveled to Rwanda for a 2-week survey
trip. Please pray for a safe and successful trip.
The Kabiye team is currently working with 19 churches and 3
teaching points throughout Kabiyeland. |
Reeves Family Update -

This
week has been both challenging and blessed for our family. We want to
thank all of you who have been praying for Hannah this past week. She
seems to be completely recovered and back to her sweet dramatic self! On
Monday at around noon we left for the Baptist hospital in Tchico (a 5
hour drive to the south) to get Hannah checked out by the pediatrician
there. The Rieses kept Gabe and Elijah for us here in Kara, for which we
were extremely grateful. Soon after we arrived, our suspicions were
confirmed that she was pretty dehydrated from her 8 days of high fevers
and bad diarrhea. We also found out that not only had she had malaria
with the yucky virus that's been circulating here in Kara and among our
team, but she also had intestinal amoebas and bacterial dysentery. No
wonder she was so sick! After 24 hours of IV fluids, she was doing much
better and even felt like eating the next day (for the first time in
more than a week!) Bryan and Matt picked up Dave on Tuesday afternoon on
their way to Ghana so Dave could make his flight to Rwanda and Becky
drove back to Kara with Hannah on Wednesday morning. We are so thankful
for Dr. Ebersol, the compassionate and competent pediatrician at the
ABWE hospital in Tchico and for all of your many prayers. The Lord be
praised for His grace towards us!
We
celebrated Gabriel's 2nd birthday this past Saturday in conjunction with
our team's harvest hoedown party. He has such a joyful spirit and we
praise God for the past two years of his life and the sweetness he has
brought to ours! Please pray for him as he has a pretty good fever
right now from the virus that's finally made its way to him, and
possibly Elijah, too.
David has arrived in Rwanda, along with our
teammate Matt and Murphy Crowson and Marty Koonce, both from the
Tabligbo team. Please pray for them as they spend the next week
and a half surveying different parts of Rwanda for potential future
mission teams who God will call to minister in this war-torn country.
David plans to arrive back in Kara on the 19th and his wife and children
eagerly await his return!
Becky also started co-teaching the
kindergarteners on our team this past week and had a great first day!
She is looking forward to teaching, along with Andrea, our bright young
men for the remainder of the school year. Thank you for all of your
prayers and love. We feel them and praise God for each of you!
