Kabiye Team News
November 18, 2000
Although to this point most of out time and energy is
being spent on completing the work on our house, I feel it proper to let
you know how things are going. We are doing well as a family, and are
glad of the progress on our home.
There are plans for some classes to learn Kabiye phonetics to help us in
our language learning. Each day is an opportunity to learn something new
about the Kabiye culture. This is important because it will help us
understand those we will be teaching. Tuesday I will be going with the
other men on the team to witness a Kabiye ceremony which only happens
every five years, so it is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the
Kabiye way of life. Through avenues such as this we are gaining
understanding of the Kabiye. There is a long way to go, and we look
forward to reporting on headway made in these areas.
We love you all, as we remember that the congregation there is an
important part of this work. We pray for you every day. Keep us in your
prayers, and know that we are ever in God's loving and caring hands. May
we all look upon our daily lives with an eternal perspective. To God be
the glory!
In His service,
David & Becky Reeves
