Kabiye Team News Dear Family and Friends, Hello to all of you! We pray that you are doing well and give
God praise for you daily. This last week of speaking nothing but
"François" from 8:40am to 4:15pm went very well. Thanks to all of
you who have been praying. We did cheat a little here and there,
but we will get better and better as the days go by. We do have
moments of utter frustration as we can't express ourselves, but our
teachers and fellow students are understanding and sometimes we give up
for a word or two or just give up completely on the conversation if it's
not that important. We both did well on our tests again yesterday and
Hannah is adjusting to the nursery again. She had an ear infection
on Monday and Tuesday so Thursday was her first day back. David
We have attached a picture this time for all of you who haven't seen
a recent one of our family in awhile. Hopefully some of you can
open it.
Hannah's first birthday is coming up this Wednesday and presents have been arriving for her in the mail off and on over the last week. She is especially enjoying her new phone with lights and sounds attached and her pull-along turtle. She is also getting a kick out of her big girl toothbrush and is beginning to increase her vocabulary with forms of the words, "turtle, Abby, hat, bath, Hannah, and donkey" (There are some donkeys that reside behind our building that we go and visit often. Hannah really enjoys telling them long stories to which they patiently listen with their long ears!) Our big entertainment for this week was walking 20 minutes to McDonald's for dinner last night! The prices are a little more expensive than in the states, but it's worth it to taste some "American" food:-) I had a hamburger called "The McRoyal Deluxe". Does that even exist in the states? I guess I never ate much at McDonald's in the US, but I think this must be new! It was pretty good! Well, I can't think of anything else of much excitement to report. I look forward to the day when we can send out weekly updates about all of the new people coming to Christ for the month etc. That time will come soon enough. Keep praying! First thing is first, though, as we continue to learn French. Please know that we care and pray for all of you! Please continue to pray for us, too! I will leave you with this verse, "This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!" Matt. 17:5. May you hear his voice today! In His Love, |
