Church Family Update...

  • Please pray for our congregation... that we might grow and become more like Jesus. Our classes and preaching in the coming months will all focus on patterning our lives on the Lord. Let’s all rededicate ourselves to becoming more like Him in every way.

  • You can read through the New Testament in 90 Days... What a great way to begin the first quarter of 2012! Notice the insert that breaks the New Testament down into 90 segments. Let’s do it!

  • Men’s Night Out... Thank you to Bob Clark, who will be serving as the new contact person for Men’s Night Out! Join Bob at his place on Saturday, January 21st, at 5:30pm, for a fun night of cards and fellowship! The main dish will be provided, so just bring snacks or soda. There will be a map on the Welcome Desk. Please RSVP so there will be enough chairs and tables for everyone.

  • Come be a part of our Sunday Morning Bible Classes!...
      - “The Power of a Whisper” (large auditorium) Scott Rouse
      - “What would Jesus Do?” (small auditorium) Mike Wood
      - “Prayer for Women” Claudia Moberg

  • Wednesday Night Inspiration... Different men, from whom we don’t normally get to hear, will each speak about a specific teaching of Jesus and how it has impacted their lives. Wes Reese presented a remarkable and powerful message about Jesus and Forgiveness last week. Isaac Cutler and Kurt Roush also did some great things during the devotional time. Don’t miss these amazing Wednesday nights. This week, Andy Ponder will talk to us about “Jesus and Compassion”. Kirk Davidson and Paul Welter will follow after that. Let’s support these men!

  • Alan McCormick is stepping down as a deacon—primarily because he is so involved with the Downtown Ministry, but also because, as building custodian, he is now a member of church support staff, and it is our tradition here that church staff does not serve as deacons or elders at the same time that they are employed by the church.

January 29th

Who will be the 2012 Chili King?

Beginning January 15th...

“Having the Mind of Christ”

This will be about what Jesus loved, and what He didn’t. Please pray for God’s blessing upon these messages and His help in becoming more like Jesus.

DGYM News...

  • LTC Meeting... There will be a brief meeting today at 1:00pm in the Small Auditorium for all LTC participants AND their parents.

  • Connect LIFEgroup... meets Mondays from 6:00-7:30pm at the Sheltons’ house. This week is for High School students.

  • Hang Time... After School Hang Time is back! The Youth Barn will be open with snacks, games, and movies every Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00pm. All 6th-12th graders are invited to come hang out... and maybe even get some homework done! This is a great way to invite friends and introduce them to the youth group in a relaxed, non-threatening atmosphere.

  • Winter Advance... All 6th-12th graders (and parents) are encouraged to join us for this faith-advancing experience at Camp Prince's Pine on January 20-22. The theme is "Identity Theft." Cost: $20.
