Shepherd's Corner...

Are You Readyby Dan DuPey

We are about to embark on a great journey! You have all responded well. We see an attitude of "belonging" which compliments our theme, "We are a place to belong". We are a group that cares about each other. We are a group that is ready to take action! We are a group that knows that encouraging one another should be foremost in our minds as we meet with one another.

We are a group "ready" to emulate Christ even more. We, the elders, want to thank all of the sheep for a tremendous Ministry Fair. It was a great day of worship and fellowship. The attitudes were Christ-like. The mood was positive and action oriented! God's army is obviously ready to move forward at Dalton Gardens. We are all busy. It is sometimes difficult to follow through and activate our decisions. We must remember that we are His soldiers and that He comes first. We, as sheep, are following Jesus. We are denying wants of "self" and taking up the cross and following our great shepherd.

Again, we want you ALL to know that we care for you. We love you, and we are here to help with any need that you might have. It is exciting living our lives knowing that we have that hope of eternal life. That we have a beautiful, wonderful place waiting for us that has already been prepared! As the year rolls forward we pray that we will continue to draw closer and closer to one another. We pray that we might be anxious to serve. That we might find our gift and utilize this gift to the fullest in serving Him.

Remember, we will be having a short meeting following services today for all leaders. Lunch will be provided! We, your shepherds, pray that you have an exciting week and look forward to working together in the coming weeks ahead.

Teen Scene...

Last weekend's retreats were a great success. The Girls that went to the Fredriksons’ had a lot of fun doing girl stuff, watching movies, and just visiting. Many of you girls missed this event so make plans now to be a part of this retreat next year! As for the guys, we also had fun. It was plenty cold up at camp - 10 degrees on Sunday morning and it never did get to 0. The tube run is ready for the Tweeners and for mid winter. We had six senior high guys go this year and we are already looking forward to next year. The only casualty was the old guy who injured his knee. Everyone remember the ministry fair this afternoon. All of you teens need to sign up to serve in other areas besides the youth ministry. Take a look around and pick something. You would be a blessing to any ministry!  -Scott
