We compare. We renegotiate. We address what was not accomplished in our plans. For a variety of reasons we may find ourselves eliminating goals that had been set, plans for our future and adjustments for our health. It is always easier to do nothing. Recently, many of us listened as a myriad of comments were made regarding the life of a president. We come to find out that even those who were upset and disgruntled with president Ford for many of his decisions during his presidency found many kind words to say about his character. Many used words like integrity, honesty, truthful, and understanding. There were those that said president Ford had a VISION for our country that promoted specific decisions to help heal a nation that was hurting. I think we can all say that the Ford funeral was extremely well done for the "vision" of America. Where is our focus and our vision as Christians? We, as Christians NEED to keep our focus and our vision on what Christ has set before us. As we begin this new 2007, let us remember to add to our agenda and activities the great "VISION" Christ set up for us! Make 2007 a year of many hugs! Make 2007 a year of many encouraging words! Make 2007 a year of bringing joy to others! Make 2007 a year of sharing the "Good News"! Make 2007 a year of implementing our VISION! Remember Jesus has said, "....... I am with you always, even to the end of the age!" Mt. 28:20
Teen Scene...
Teens, the holidays are over and I hope that you all had an exciting time with your families and friends. I just want to say that Karmen and I were totally surprised by the card and gift that you guys presented to us. Thank you all so much! We have always considered it a privilege to work with the youth group, and we both cherish all of the relationships that God has allowed us to develop with you. We are coming to a very busy part of our year, and everyone's involvement is crucial. It's time to start gearing up for Miqvah and the winter retreat, and camps are not really that far in the future. As we start preparing for these events, I ask all of you teens and the congregation as a whole to pray daily about these things. Alone we can do nothing, but with God involved we can do anything! -Scott Serving Next Week...
