Shepherd's Corner...

Near the end of the year many business organizations take an annual inventory. Are you living like the salt of the earth? Matt. 5:13 To what extent are you the light of the world? Matt. 5:14 What kind of a child of God (John 1:12) are you? Are you truly Christ’s friend and ambassador? See John 15:15. To what extent is your love for Christ being expressed in your life by keeping his commandments?
We are chosen and appointed by Christ to bear fruit for his glory. How much are you bearing for Christ in your life? See John 15:1-5. In a spiritual inventory ask yourself, are you a real genuine Christian by daily seeking first the kingdom of Christ? See John 15:1-5. To what extent? You are a temple - a dwelling place of God. His Spirit and His life dwell in you. How are you using your body as a living sacrifice? See Romans 12:1-2. We want only the best for you!

Teen Scene...

Teens, This past week I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about all the things in my life that I am thankful for. The list is pretty long. God has blessed me with a multitude of things but one that outshines almost all the others is how he has blessed me to work with all of you. I don't say it often enough but you guys really light up my life. I know that scripture tells us that our reward is in heaven but I get so many rewards and pleasures from the relationships that we share. Every smile, every hug are a blessing from God that bring light into my life. If that isn't a reward I don't know what is! But I don't want to be greedy, You guys need to share those gestures of love with the world. There are so many people around you that have no one to love them. God blessed you with the gift of love, share it with someone!  -Scott

JOY.....JOY....JOY!   Dan DuPey

What "really" is JOY? When you hear that word, what comes to your mind? Is it having success with a goal that you set? Is it having "extra" money at the end of the month? Is it having a "good" meal, whatever that might be for you?

True JOY is much more than delightful statements that we have contemplated or succeeded in. It truly is imperative that we forge this definition to the front of our thinking and actions of each day. Why? By realizing what JOY truly is motivates us. It will encourage us when we are discouraged. It will lift us up when we are down. It will motivate us to press on to the goal that we have in Christ. It will help us share!

This true definition, JOY="knowing the HOPE that we have in Christ. eternal Life!" This is refreshing and should keep us on the narrow path! A path that God has set for us! However, we do fall. We do experience trials. We DO have tribulations. James said, "Consider it pure JOY whenever you face trials.....because this test of our faith develops perseverance." We have recently finished a great class on "Joy" from the perspective of James and Peter. Paul has given us many examples of this in Philippians as well….God does place many scenarios of JOY in our lives for us to enjoy!

The smile of a baby...The school child that gives you a hug….The simple words we hear: "Thank-you and ""Please"….Encouraging words from the brethren….A struggling child showing success at school.
The smile of Christian Love….Being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry can change many scenarios from negative to POSITIVE... Prayer...imperative: Be an example of JOY so others might see! Remember, be joyous as we have a special place that has been prepared for us.
