Good Morning Guests… Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. There are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome. We’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are, and your questions are always welcomed.

Shepherd's Corner...

In the last few weeks I wrote about change, prayer, and keeping our focus upon God. Did you realize that all these changes, rearrangements, and improving that we are undergoing are not new. When you look back into the Bible you see this happened several times. They referred to this as a rededication. The Israelites did this when they prepared for their exodus, when they prepared to meet God at Mt. Sinai, when they prepared to build the temple, etc. In the New Testament we read of how the Christians rededicated their lives when they were reconciled to God through Jesus. In fact they were encouraged, even commanded, to rededicate their lives daily.

Did you notice that when these incidents occurred that they were accomplished when the individual, and then the group turned back to God? This is what we are doing. We need to be rededicating ourselves, and then this congregation, as we plan our service to glorify God. As we make plans and changes we need to constantly pray to God and ask what we can do, and not worry about what another brother is doing, or not doing. As we do this we need to also remember that we will then work together as his body, as his family, as his church.

Teen Scene...

Teens, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Holidays are always a special time to spend with family and those you love. Heading into the holiday season we have several things on our calendar. The first of which is our teen Christmas party on 12/15, more info to come on this. After the new year begins we will have the Sr. High guys retreat 1/12-14. There may be a girls activity this same weekend but is unconfirmed at this time. I got an e-mail from Paul Andrews and the Colbert group is hosting their first ever youth rally on 1/19-21. We will have information soon for this and let's plan on being part of this to encourage their group. Mid winter retreat will be coming in Feb. so get out your snow clothes. As we prepare for these events remember that our mission is to bring others into our activities in order to introduce them to the gospel of Christ. Have a great week!  -Scott

“He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; ...
Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the great love of the Lord.”

Psalms 107:35,43 (NIV)

Taking Time to be Thankful

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Full of memories of family and/or friends, laughter, and of course, food. I also hope that you had the opportunity to reflect on the gracious blessings that God had granted you over the past year. Personally, God has granted me more blessings then any one person could hope for. God is so awesome!

So this week I took time with my class to reflect on the things that God has done for each of them that they can be thankful for. This is some of what they had to say:

Shelby - I am thankful for love
Lily - I am thankful for my dog
Nakisha - I am thankful for my mom
Serenity - I am thankful for my cat
Caroline - I am thankful for my mom and dad
Kylee - I am thankful for Grandma and Poppa
Janessa - I am thankful for my family
Nathan - I am thankful for my new house
Taylor - I am thankful for toys

Now, what are you thankful for?! May you have a joyful holiday season.

- Lynelle Dehlbom and the CCS K4 class.
