Good Morning Guests… Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. There are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome. We’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are, and your questions are always welcomed.
Please Silence your Cell Phones and Pagers Thank You for your consideration. |

Family News... Secret Sister RevealingLadies mark your calendar for our Annual Secret Sister Revealing, which will be Thursday, November 2nd, at 6 p.m. in the Teen Center. Please bring a potluck dish to share and a final gift for your Secret Sister. Try to include a clue for your Secret Sister, as each person will try to guess who has been gifting them. If you cannot attend, PLEASE contact Katrina Swaim at 964-0125. CCS is doing a craft project, and the school is in need of lots of empty tissue or paper towel rolls. Please bring your donations to Carrie in the school office or drop them in the donation box in the foyer. Thank you Dalton Men! A Big Thank You! Thanks to everyone who came and supported the bookfair for CCS! Because of the wonderful support, we raised about $900 in books and instructional materials for our school. We increased our sales by about 60% from last spring. This is incredible and the staff is so very encouraged by the enthusiastic support! Thank you! Magi Project. The Magi boxes are due this Wednesday, November 1st. This year is a bit different! We will only work with completed boxes. Please do not just send in donations. We will not be creating boxes. Please complete your own box, wrap it and include a $5 check for mailing. Information on how to pack a box is on the kiosk. They are asking for our church to provide boxes for boys or girls ages 7-10 or 11-14. Our boxes will go to the Dominican Republic. Mark your Calendars for a Boomers Fellowship on December 9th, at Keith & Carole Fredrikson’s home. Opportunity to Contribute to Life-Line of Hope on November 5th.

Shepherd's Corner... "Babies and Toddlers" by Larry Slate Babies are funny little creatures. I know because Sylvia and I had two. It seems like they cry when they are hungry, with dirty diapers, or when hot or cold. Sometimes they cry for no reason at all. I believe they have bad days just like we all do. In 1974 Sylvia and I moved to Bridgeport, Washington, and worshiped with the Church of Christ in nearby Pateros. It was a small church (60 members), and we were the only couple with toddlers. About the second Sunday, we had a disaster. Both kids were cranky and cried on and off during the whole worship service with the members gawking at us. Everything we tried just did not work! What an embarrassing time for us! After the service we apologized to some of the elders and members, but they all joyfully expressed great appreciation for us worshiping with them and for the crying toddlers. One individual said, “It is great to hear the sounds of babies and kids.” These words were a blessing from God! It is great to hear the sounds of babies and kids because they are a blessing. I truly believe that lots of babies and kids are a sign of a healthy congregation, and we have been blessed with a healthy church here at Dalton Gardens. Every time I here a baby cry, I count it as a blessing. Thank God for all the children and young parents. We love you!! |

Teen Scene... I love reading about King David. If I were to choose a Biblical hero other than Christ, I think that I'd pick David. Even in his youth he did some amazing things for God. One of the things I respect and admire about David is the courage and confidence he displayed when facing frightening odds. As a young man, he took on a nine foot giant and knew that he could not lose. Carrying just a rock and a piece of cloth, he went up against Goliath, and with a confidence that bordered on arrogance, he told the giant that he was going to feed his flesh to the birds of the air. David won the battle with his faith before the rock ever left his sling. We serve the same powerful God that David served, and he will be with us as well when times are tough. We may never slay a giant, but God can and will work in you even as a teenager, to do some amazing things if you only trust him! -Scott
