And We Love Guests...

Good Morning Guests… Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. There are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome. We’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are, and your questions are always welcomed.

Shepherd's Corner...

YOUTH MINISTER search -- not forgotten. As a Church Family it is important that we know what is happening. It's important that we have a voice and feel comfortable in participating in church ministries. The fact is that the Lord is counting on us ALL to be involved in the good works of the church. We are truly thankful for all those adults that have stepped forward to assist in Youth & Children's activities. We are especially thankful to Scott Rouse for overseeing the Youth Ministry. This congregation is currently involved in discussions about ministries and direction for the church. We are also in the selection phase for leaders within the church. The Elders thought it prudent, during this important planning time, to temporarily put on hold our search for a Youth Minister. Lord willing, this congregation will have new leaders and will have prioritized our focus & direction by early 2007. By next Spring, this congregation will be in a better position to know what our needs are and proceed with God's help. Please Pray for our Lord's blessings as this church moves forward in our service to Him, and pray for our Youth.

Teen Scene...

Teens,
The past few weeks we have been discussing what it takes to be a more effective church, more specifically, what it takes to be a more effective youth group. I really appreciate those of you who are coming on Wednesday evenings to participate in this discussion. We have been talking about our lives and how we can touch the lives of others. Some times we tend to think that it is a complicated process, but actually it's not. Our friends are wandering about in life hoping for some kind of direction. You guys have the answer that they need, Jesus Christ! A life without Christ is like a maze that twists and turns in every which way and really goes nowhere. A Christ filled life is on a straight track, and the Spirit of God helps us on the way. If you continue to live that life, sooner or later your friends will notice and become curious. Be ready to seize the opportunity when it comes your way!  -Scott

CCS Corner: The Full Life of Being Four

Energetic, compassionate, curious, talkative, joyous, enthusiastic, loving, funny, hungry, passionate, eager, trusting, creative. These are just a few of the traits that the students in my K4 (4 year old kindergarten) class have. This wonderful class of eleven students (mostly girls) keeps me on my toes each day, as they learn to be patient, be kind to each other, wait for their turn, and to line up and stay in line. But they don't just learn to be kind and loving, and practice self control, they are already on their way to learning to read. We have been mastering our vowels and writing them, too. They are counting to 10, (some can already go much, much higher). They have practiced their colors and shapes, coloring and cutting. The life of a 4 year old in kindergarten is (and this is an understatement) so very full.

The life of our school is also full of so many good things. Each student here learns to grow in character and faith as they learn to master math and language. A well balanced education leads toward a well balanced life. What a blessing it is to be a part of it all.

Come join us during our book fair, Reading Rainforest! It will be held October 15-20. Let's go bananas over books, and please find a way to support the Bookfair.

- Lynelle Dehlbom, Grade K4
