We're On the Grow...

And We Love Guests...

Good Morning Guests… Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. There are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome. We’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are, and your questions are always welcomed.

Please Turn Your Cell Phones and Pagers Off or on Vibrate During Bible Class and Worship...Thanks

-The Elders

Family News...

CCS Auction Meeting. On Thursday, October 12th, there will be a very important CCS Auction meeting in the small auditorium from 6 - 7 p.m. Please participate and help the school to remain healthy.

Rescheduled Photo Date. Monday, September 11, was a day we were planning on finishing up the photography for the Picture Directory. Unfortunately, there was a scheduling snafu with Olan Mills’ photography staff. Due to their mistake, we have a rescheduled date for those who have not been photographed yet. Tuesday, October 17, is the only day available to us. We will also be photographing any staff members who were missed on the first photography date. Please, let Dave Johnson know if this will not work for you if you were originally scheduled for the September 11 date. You will be called to be reminded as the day approaches.

A BIG Thanks! Thank you to all who contributed to the men's theme basket for the Open Arms Crisis Care auction. They were very appreciative of our participation.

Tweeners Mystery Dinner. Tweeners are getting together for the famous Mystery Dinner on Friday evening October 20th, at 6:30 pm at the Frahm's home. The dinner is called "Search for the Truth". You must sign-up for the dinner on the kiosk and pick out the character that you want to play. Questions - talk to Alyssa Frahm.

Kids’ Harvest Party. Plan on attending this year’s Harvest Party, Friday, Oct. 27th from 6 – 8 pm. Fun games, food, and prizes are available for everyone! To make a donation of candy or prizes, please see April Hammar.

Magi Project. The Magi boxes will be due by November 1st. This year is a bit different! We will only work with completed boxes. Please do not just send in donations. We will not be creating boxes. Please complete your own box, wrap it and include a $5 check for mailing. Information on how to pack a box will be in your mail box and extra copies on the kiosk. They are asking for our church to provide boxes for boys or girls ages 7-10 or 11-14. Our boxes will go to the Dominican Republic.

Help Plan Our Future this Wednesday at 6:30 ...Soup at 5:45

Shepherd's Corner...

As we review and study the ministries that we support, let us not forget to pray about each one and really look at the purpose for that ministry. As shepherds, we would like most of the ministries to be outward and not inward. There will always be some that are needed to support our own members, but let’s not get so inward that we shut out the world. It is possible to make our favorite ministries both inward and outward. If we study how the ministry is to work, we can incorporate both purposes. For instance, the men have been meeting once a month for fun night. What a perfect time to invite friends or neighbors. Another is the Sew in Love group that meets at the building. It does such a great service and it is a perfect group to invite others to join. And our greatest possibilities are the Life Groups that meet each week. Look this week at how you can make the groups you support be an outreach to others and pray that God will furnish the opportunity. God Bless each one as we serve the Master together in a new era of growth.

Teen Scene...

This weeks Teen Scene is written not to the teens but rather to all of our Senior saints. As most of you know, each fall the youth group hosts the Keenage Banquet. This year it will be held on Saturday 10/21. You all will receive an invitation and we hope that each one will be able to attend. In past years it has been a very enjoyable evening for the Keenagers and teens as well. Preparations are in progress and I know that you will have fun. Patty Welter is planning a wonderful meal and the teens are planning an entertaining evening. With the starting of the Boomers group, some of you may consider yourselves closer to that age group. Many of you in this category have attended this event before and you are welcome again even if you are a Boomer. Please respond promptly to the invitation. Hope to see ya there!  -Scott

 CCS Corner: CHANGES

Tuesday was picture day at CCS. The students came to school a little shinier than usual. The girls came in their prettiest dresses with their hair in curls and ribbons and bows. The boys came in dress shirts with hair slicked down or spiked up. They were even cuter than usual. Parents got up early and some even took off from work to make sure their little ones were photographed at their very best. All the extra effort reminded me that the parents of my students love their children just as much as I love Josh and Adam. I am impressed and awed by that thought.

And even more, God loves us all even more than that. WOW!!! And to God, every day is picture day. He wants us to live at our very best. He doesn't care about ribbons or bows or good hair days. He cares about our hearts being clean and pure. If God could take a picture of my heart, I hope that He would want to frame it and show it off just like our CCS parents will do with their child's school pictures. God bless our school...God bless our parents...God bless our children.
