We're On the Grow...

And We Love Guests...

Good Morning Guests… Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. There are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome. We’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are and your questions are always welcomed.

Rescheduled Photo Date
Monday, September 11, was a day we were planning on finishing up the photography for the Picture Directory. Unfortunately, there was a scheduling snafu with Olan Mills’ photography staff. Due to this mistake, we have a rescheduled date for those who have not been photographed yet. Tuesday, October 17, is the only day available to us for a “reshoot.” We will also be photographing any staff members who were missed on the first photography date. Please, let Dave Johnson know if this will not work for you if you were originally scheduled for the September 11 date. You will be called to be reminded as the day approaches. Olan Mills has apologized for the inconvenience and their mistake.

Shepherd's Corner...

The selection of Shepherds process has been an opportunity for the current Shepherds to look at our own service during the past years. Two very important issues have come to mind that we would like to share with you. The first is a passage from 1 Peter 5:2. “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording in over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” This is the direction that we want to move toward. We need to be the spiritual leaders of the congregation. However, the second point is that we also like to serve as God’s servants in the Lord’s church. It is important that each member to this congregation feel that they need to serve in whatever capacity they feel they are called to, or even to stretch their comfort zone and take on additional responsibilities. We can all learn new skills thru education and helping others in their ministries. We each have a story to tell, and sometimes we need to recall how we have grown thru service to God and the church. Take time this week to look at your life and consider how you might make the difference this week in someone’s life.

Where God’s Blessings Flow

CCS Corner: little can be much...

“Little is Much When God is in It.” This was the title of a wonderful article I just read. It talked about how in our society, size is the main measure of success and often times a school of small size is deemed unsuccessful strictly because the enrollment is not maxed out. However, from a Christian perspective, size is not the main thing, but service to Him. I must admit that, dedicated as the staff of CCS is, we too have gotten bogged down in the “bigger is better” mentality. I have now been reminded of WHY we are here. Our subject in Sunday Bible class has been Gideon. His army was too big to be effective in the way God wanted to use them. It was whittled down from 32,000 armed men to 300 men with horns, torches and clay pitchers. Jonathan and Ruth are known for their dedication to one specific person, Ruth even having an entire book dedicated to her story. Jesus himself, although he cared for thousands, took a special 12 under his wing and equipped them to go out and change the world. We are equipping our students to do the same. They will change our world. It often takes years to see the fruits of our labors, and sometimes we won’t realize it until we see our students in heaven. The last thing the devil wants to see are kids who have God in their hearts and minds at all times out making a difference in society for Him. That is the main focus and mission to further the kingdom of God.   - Kathy Taylor, 3rd & 4th Grade Teacher
