  2. Nominations close October 1st.
  3. Everyone who gets over 25 nominations will be asked if they believe that they have the qualities of an elder and if they wish to be placed before the congregation.
  4. All willing nominees will be placed before congregation on October 8th.
  5. The congregation will have until October 15th to produce in writing (and signed) any spiritual objection to any person standing for elder.

Shepherd's Corner...

As we start the Elder selection process, it is important that each one of us be a part of that process. We all need to help in this process by making your recommendations. We have many men who meet the qualities that will be discussed during Wednesday, Sunday morning classes, the worship service and the life groups. We all need to be a part of these discussions and voice our opinions, as long as they are scriptural. The other thing that we can do is to encourage the men you recommend by talking to them about why you feel that they should serve. Let them know that you will follow their leadership and seek their advice. WE are blessed to have such a great congregation and great leadership in the Elders, Deacons and Ministry Leaders. God Bless each one.

-Lamont for the Shepherds

Teen Scene

Teens,
The 06-07 school year has begun! Some of you say yippee! some say yuck! You know, school and the relationships that you develop there can be one of the greatest tools you have to work for the Lord. The people that you interact with should be able to recognize that there is something different about you. I don't mean that they will find out that you are weird, even though you might be, but that your life should be enough different that they would notice. The closeness of your relationship with Christ will shine in all that you do. Don't just let it shine when you are here or at a rally, let it shine each day wherever you find yourself. And if you do, someone else may just find the Lord!  -Scott

Special Sermon on Baptism - October 1st
Bring a Friend... And a Searcher

We Can’t Contain Our excitement!

Please forgive us for being zealous!  Have you ever seen an infant who has just found his tongue and wants to show it to you repeatedly?  Have you ever seen a preschooler who has just learned how to count to ten and counts everything in sight?  Have you ever seen a seven year old who just got a new video game and wants you to watch her play it?  Have you ever seen a teenager who is learning to play an electric guitar or bass, and they just can't be quiet for one entire evening?  Have you ever met a bride-to-be who can't help but tell you every detail concerning her upcoming nuptials?  Have you ever been accosted by a new grandpa with an endless supply of pictures of the world's cutest baby?  Did you happen to be around any Seahawk fans last season?  We just want you to know that the Coeur d' Alene Christian School staff has experienced all of these things before, so we understand if your eyes may glaze over when we start telling you about how excited we are to be back to school teaching kids about Jesus.  So please forgive me when I say that God, our church family, and Coeur d' Alene Christian School have been invaluable in helping my husband and me raise our children to recognize God every day in their lives.  I hold on to God's promise:  "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Pro. 22:6   - Marci Nelson, 5th & 6th Grade Teacher
