Sew in Love is back

Ready for Sept. 6th?

Good Morning Guests…. Welcome to a great and warm church family. The Dalton Gardens Church of Christ exists to honor Jesus Christ by serving and loving others. Our guests are the most important people here today. Please know our communion service is open to all Christians. The nursery is located just outside the worship area. Normally there are special children’s worship classes for those age 2 thru 4th grade that are announced during the worship assembly, but on this holiday weekend they have been dismissed. Our worship is based upon the simple, yet sincere model of the New Testament. It is designed to encourage everyone to be a participant. Remember, the intent of your heart is always more important than your musical skill...So feel free to sing out in joy to the Lord. Most importantly...relax, feel welcome, we’re glad you are here and love you just the way you are and your questions are always welcomed.

NEWS NOTES...

Ladies Fall Fellowship Meeting
The Ladies Fall Fellowship for October 7th will be here before we know it, so we need to meet as a committee and work out some final details. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, September 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the small auditorium. Please mark this on your calendar and plan to attend.

Join us on Pink Sunday, September 10, 2006
“Join your fellow church members in celebrating Pink Sunday on September 10, a grassroots effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. Women will receive an educational packet explaining risk factors and the critical role of early detection in saving lives from breast cancer . Wear “pink” that Sunday to show your support. Join us as we honor survivors for their courage and pray for those that have lost their battle with breast cancer.

Sew In Love
We’ve taken a break for the summer months except for our monthly birthday luncheons. Regular weekly classes will resume September 12, 10:30 a.m. in the Youth Center. After Bible study we will have a salad and dessert potluck. Please bring a salad or dessert to share and join us. We always need cotton fabric (solids and prints), quilt batting, and white thread. Our angel, Bea Phippen furnished us with a lot of backpacks which are almost gone. Any help with any of these items would be appreciated. We have Bible study from 10:30-12:00, then brown bag lunch and then a sewing session for those who can stay. You don’t have to sew to be part of the group! For more information or for any questions, please contact Betty Williams at 762-4485 or Betty Evans at 667-7064.

Don’t forget...pictures for the directory will be taken this next Friday, Saturday and Monday!

Shepherd's Corner...

When you are reading this, the Annual Farragut campout will be in full swing. This is a great family time together and the Elders hope is that each one that has attended has found it spiritually rewarding. This is not just personal family time, but a time to connect with the church family. Many memories are created during these times together. It is important that we realize that our home is not here on earth, but in heaven. Lynn Anderson has written a book called “Longing for a Homeland”, where he talks about what it is to search for our roots and how we feel about our searching to find where home really is. Where is your home and how comfortable are you on this planet? Is your family blood only, or does it encompass the church also. If we can help you to answer any of these questions, we are here to help you. God Bless each of you.  -Lamont for the Shepherds

Teen Scene

Teens, how many of you set goals? Goals are one way that we can measure growth in our lives. If we never set goals for ourselves or determine what direction we wish to take how can we know where we are going? If you don't know where you're going you'll end up somewhere you may not want to be. If you have never set goals it really is a simple process. Start small with goals that you can achieve easily. Once you find yourself achieving these smaller goals you can move to some more important areas of your life. When you set goals, pray about them. When you realize your goals remember to thank God for helping you reach them. This process will give your spiritual life a big boost!  -Scott

Cd’a Christian School...God Still needs us

Yes, the school year is about to start…Classes begin on Tuesday. The mission of Cd’A Christian will continue. We are needed and long from being finished with our important task. We have been gaining students recently as parents search for an educational environment where God is not excluded, but emphasized. We picked up a lot of interest and some students from the fair booth. Thanks to all who helped with the fair booth.

This year we are focusing on K-4 thru 6th grade and we still have openings in all grades. Our teachers are: Lynelle Dehlbom (K-4), Jennifer Rude (K-5), Teri Dupey assisted by Debbie Yanzick (grades 1 and 2), Kathy Taylor (grades 3 and 4), Marci Nelson (grades 5 and 6) and it is my privilege to serve as the School Administrator. Tuition for half day kindergarten program is very inexpensive at just $150 per week and full time students in K thru 6th are charged only $220. These are among the best rates in the area.

Keep us in your prayers and we always need volunteers, so let us know if you can help.

- Dan Dupey, Administrator
