SHORT BY
STUFF DAVE SHANER
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and he who wins souls is wise. - Proverbs 11:30 We have a very important
event coming up June 26. Larry West, from We Care Ministries, will be here
to conduct a one day soul-wining seminar. On that day, he will be delivering
our lessons for the Bible classes and the worship assembly. After a meal
together, the seminar will be held that afternoon. Larry, and the cadre
that travels with him, have been conducting campaigns for several years.
It is not uncommon for them to have 50 baptisms or more along with many
people being restored to their first love. What makes We Care so successful
is not so much his dynamic preaching, but the time that the members of the
team take to actually introduce themselves to someone and then to ask them
if they could teach them about the Lord. We know, intellectually, that all
evangelism takes place with someone sharing the gospel. The plan is simple,
but we don't take the time like we should to actually do it. I am reminded
of the prominent evangelist, Dwight L. Moody, who was out ministering to
the inner city poor children in Chicago. He was missing for 3 days. His
staff said he was needed to be organizing the campaign. They asked him why
he was doing that because anybody could do what he was doing. He was needed
for more important stuff. He responded, "Anybody can, but nobody does."
Any one without Jesus Christ is lost. The reason
is because all are sinners. Unless the sin is removed, we can never find
God. Therefore, Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. He is the answer
to our greatest need. He did not come into the world to condemn anyone.
We already were! God has asked you and me to be his coworkers in getting
the good news of salvation to the lost. There are a lot of methods to sharing
the message of Jesus. Some methods are better than others. But the problem
is not in our methods as much as whether it is in our hearts. Larry West
will teach us a method that has proven very successful. But it still takes
a willing soul-winner to use it. Plan to be here.
Have a Great Week!!
Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. -Matthew
28:19-20

We Care
On June 26th Larry West and Chuck Thompson will be here from We Care Ministries
to conduct a soul winning seminar entitled 'Confronting With Care - Our
Responsibility to Our Neighbor'. This will be a seminar to train us in teaching
the gospel one on one. More information will be forthcoming.
Sew In Love Class Update
Our Sew In Love class will continue during the summer months; come join
us when you can -- Tuesdays at 10:30 at 1950 W. Prairie Ave. On Tuesday,
June 14 we are having a potluck in honor of one of the foster mothers we
help. She is caring for a 'brand new' baby and will come share some of the
joys of caring for foster children.
Recently we have distributed 28 lap robes, 10 back packs with blankets/quilts,
7 cuddle bags with blankets/quilts, and 12 quilts, some of these to the
fire department. If you have cotton fabrics you would like to donate to
our group, we'd gladly accept them.
Who's coming to dinner?
A sign-up on the kiosk is for everyone interested in hosting or being a
guest for dinner. Each month everyone's names who have signed up will be
randomly drawn from a hat. First draw will be host, and second draw will
be the guest. This will be a time to get to know each other and enjoy each
other's company, drawing us closer in our church family. Names will start
to be drawn the first of June. Once your names are drawn, the host will
be responsible to contact the guest to find an evening that is good for
both parties. For more information contact Paula Morris 664-1046 or Kim
Borsheim 772-0785.
Tweeners Beach Party!!!
Tweeners, come join the fun on Tuesday, June 14 at 6:00 p.m. at Honeysuckle
Beach at Hayden Lake. Bring beach toys and swim gear. Bring a picnic meal
for family and a smile. For more information, see Alyssa Frahm.
Music Camp is only two weeks away!!!
If you haven't turned in your registration form or deposit yet, you save
$30 if you register by today.
Shepherd's Corner
Has spring been good to you? This is another wonderful time of the year.
This is a time when everything is blossoming, and springing up. This is
that time when people have been doing yard work, planting gardens, and planning
camping trips. Before you know it summer is here. Everything is growing,
and plans have begun to materialize.
How about your spiritual life? Have you been planting the seed, the word,
in your own life or the lives of others? Have you been involved with making
plans on how to serve God, to glorify him, and to nurture this growth? Now
summer is here and these plans are materializing. Are you involved with
these plans?
The church that meets here in Dalton Gardens has many plans. Recently we
had a congregational meeting and we discussed some of them. If you have
questions then please ask us. We want you to be involved, to share in the
opportunity to serve, to teach, and in all things to glorify God.

Selection Committee Communications
Progress is happening as the committee is now complete with the addition
of Chynna Freshour as our female teen representative. Wednesday evening an

and description of the position, and resume information requests being made
ready for distribution.
Sunday Evening Teen Devos
Robert Frisk, Kim McIntire and the Borsheims have offered to help with Sunday
evening devotionals for all teens. Come join us in the bus barn at 5:30
p.m.

C.C.S. School News
A Marriage? by Dan DuPey
Did you know that CCS has been here 25 years! Did you know that this school is unique in it's total Bible and Chapel programs? Did you know
that this school is a Special Mission program supported 100% by the elders?
Did you know that the school is a "gold mine" of opportunities for us to
educate the lost, feed the needy, teach a child, bring a family to Christ, and
expand the Church! This is exciting for all of us. But, our time is limited,
and our needs are great. How can you help Dalton's Church Mission School? Our
school is a "marriage" that blends the beauty of God's Word with the church
and school together! This is a "marriage" of commitment by our elders and
leaders working together for its success.
When we think of marriage, there are a myriad of ideas that might enter
our minds. Whether this marriage is a commitment to our mission, a job,
a special hobby, or our spouse, we must institute the proper priorities
in place. The only question a Christian should be asking themselves and each other
before their commitment is, "Whose voice shall we adhere to?" Who will
control us? Who will lead us? Who will direct us when we are down? Who
will we lean on and turn to? The word "marriage" is somewhat relative when
we attempt to define it.
As Christians, we know that often we become somewhat compelled to be "married"
to our hobbies, jobs, and "special" activities. Time becomes our enemy.
There are not enough hours in the day!' We need to put God in here somewhere,
but we often just cannot seem to fit Him in. God is important; we know
that. But, there is so much to do and so many needs that "I" have! Marriage
is a commitment that needs to be represented 100% from the man and the woman.
Our commitment to our jobs, our friends, and hobbies should be special,
and our efforts 100%. But, there is a time for everything as we read from
Ecclesiastes 3. This often used scripture exposes to us the great VALUE
time really is. .....A time to weep.....A time to laugh.....A time to get.....A
time to lose.....A time to love.....
Our daughter, Kelly, will soon join the long list of God's "married
couples". Teri and I have watched her grow from stage to stage, from episode
to episode, from intimidation to proficient leader. We have seen Kelly
put on Christ and realize that special 'HOPE.' We have seen the development
of her Love for God and putting Him first. As we look toward the coming
days and the planning of this special day for Martin and Kelly, it reminds
us that our marriage to God MUST be first!
There is NO substitution. God wants us to place Him above all else.
Before we plan, before we travel, before we apply for employment, before
we begin a new day, we need to ask God what He wants us to do. The world
is pulling at us! The world wants us. Satan is as busy as ever. Even,
Our students at CCS need constant reminders on what they should be doing,
what is really righteous? This is a daily reminder that we have influence
as parents and teachers on our students and children. We can and should
make a great difference in their "marriage" or commitment to the Lord.
This early understanding can only go a long way if we implement or put into
action what we have learned from God with our children and/or students.
Oh how we need the Lord. Let's keep busy doing His work, planting the seed,
and encouraging it to grow! Our commitment and "marriage" to God will not
go unrewarded!
Announcements: CCS Fall enrollment is underway! Consider our Church School
Mission for your children! (The elders and admin would be filled with joy
if all our Church children could be enrolled at CCS! The seed has been
planted and this is our 25th year!) CCS Scholarships funds needed. Has
God blessed you? Would you consider helping a child in need with Christian
education?
Don't forget to register your children for this year's
