SHORT  BY
STUFF   DAVE SHANER

We really enjoyed our common assembly last Sunday evening. Many were gone because of the holidays, making the attendance less than it otherwise would have been, but the warmth of the group was very encouraging. It also was so good to hear from so many concerning how the LIFE groups have been such a positive part of your lives. We are planning on having these assemblies on the fifth Sundays when such months have them. In the meantime, be sure to be a regular participant in your LIFE group. Our LIFE group leaders work hard to be able to have meetings that are meaningful and encouraging. In the New Testament, the early Christians were a part of each others' lives on a daily basis. That did not mean that they saw everybody every day, but it did mean that daily association with other Christians of like faith was an essential part of their relationship with God. If you would like to know how to get in a group, please contact me or any of the leaders listed on the back of this Family News bulletin.

Remember that the summer camps start in two weeks. Please send in your registration today. Music camp's must be in by today in order to qualify for the $30 reduction in tuition. All Teen Camp must be postmarked by next Sunday. Senior Teen, Junior Teen, and Preteen camps are in August. You may pick up camp registration forms at the kiosk in the foyer or in the office.

A necessary part of our Christian lives is to share the message of Jesus with those who do not know it yet. This can be done in a variety of ways. Any method that you choose almost always comes down to sharing your faith with someone one-on-one in some kind of a setting. We would like to encourage you to be a part of our soul-winning/visitation program. We meet on Tuesday evenings to pray together before we go visit people. This is not a good time for some. If you would like to visit with someone to encourage them in their faith at a different time, we can help accommodate you as well. Be sure to see me if you would like to be involved. If you would like for us go with you to visit a friend, let me know so that we can arrange that for you as well. We have been talking about starting a new congregation in the area. This is a great idea, but we need to make sure that we can be doing now the things we need to be doing then. Winning people over to Jesus Christ is what our mission is all about. We would like to encourage you to be a part of this vital part of our spiritual walk.

Have a Great Week!

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.'  -Luke 6:38

Good News!!!

The angels in heaven rejoiced as Michaela Craner, was baptized into Christ last Sunday morning. Be sure to welcome Michaela into the family of God.

Yard Sale for LTC

At the Bus Barn, June 11-12. We still have some plane fares and other LTC expenses we'd like to cover so they don't have to come out of the youth budget. Several of you have already donated 'stuff' to sell, and if others would like to help with this, please give us a call.

Family Game Night

Be ready for tons of fun at our monthly game night, June 11th, 6:30 p.m. in the small auditorium. Bring snacks and games. Come join the fun!

Shepherd's Corner

On June 13 at 3:00 p.m. we are having a congregational meeting. This is one of the ways in which we can communicate with you. We will discuss several areas of interest regarding the future work of this congregation. As we do this we will encourage your participation in this meeting, and a sharing of ideas.

This is another great opportunity we have to meet, encourage and have fellowship together. I also understand that we will have another opportunity to share pie and ice cream following the meeting.

Because of the time involved we will dismiss the meeting of the LIFE groups.

Togo Trip

The plans for the Reeves' trip to Africa are progressing. Earlene and our girls, and I will leave July 19th to visit David & Becky and to check up on our mission work there with the Kabiye people. I plan to bring back a first hand account of the Lord's work being done there by the Togo Team. It is an expensive trip, and the unexpected expenses keep popping up. Some of you have already been helping us with money for additional required shots, and additional visa requirements. This is VERY much appreciated. I still have to pinch myself to believe we are actually going, but with your help and the Lord's wonderful blessings we will go with very grateful hearts.

It's Graduation Time!

High School graduation is such a huge turning point in the lives of our kids. It is exciting, and a little frightening. Our graduates this year are: Vanessa Brown, Michaela Craner, Kristin Falconer, Nathan Frisk, and James Graham. Their current plans are as follows: Vanessa - Oklahoma Christian University, Michaela - North Idaho College, Kristen - North Idaho College, Nathan - Oklahoma Christian University, James - Oklahoma Christian University. Congratulations to all of you, and to your families as well.

Thank you!

Thank you God for answered prayers - We should be leaving to get Nuanna on June 21.  - Tim & Alyssa Frahm

The Nature of Family;
I've been gone from Coeur d'Alene for just about a year.' I've been down in West Texas going to Sunset School of Preaching and my ministry experience (starting a campus ministry at South Plains College with the local churches) has been going out to Levelland, TX (that's right, it's so flat down there that there's a town called 'level land'). 'Most people looking at my life down in Texas have been encouraged and have thought only of the ministry I've been heavily involved in as beneficial to the SPC students and to myself. 'And, yes, I have grown spiritually through my work É but I'm only at the same church two Sundays a month. The rest of the time I'm out in a different little country church preaching or leading singing for them or I'm at a larger church in town making a report about the college work or something similar. 'Due to my situation I can't plug into one church, I don't have the opportunity to be part of one family; I'm missing out ... I'd like to ask you, from my heart, to take advantage of being here, being a member of this one local body.'

There are so many advantages to plugging yourself into the body where you are. 'Lubbock has almost 30 congregations of the Lord's church and many times people move to Lubbock and church-hop between them all, never settling into one. 'That wasn't God's plan when he developed the body concept.' He planned for a Christian to be connected to one body and to grow in that environment, grow to spiritual maturity and then to bear more fruit (i.e., more Christians).' After all, it was God who gave the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, and some to be elders and teachers to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.' Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.' Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. 'From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work (Ephesians 4).'

But we can't do that work, we can't reach that maturity, we can't be built up, and we can't be unified unless we're all plugged into the body, each part doing its own work, É being 'plugged in' is finding some part of ministry to be a part of, and by doing that ministry, you're building yourself up and the body up in love.

C.C.S CORNER SCHOOL NEWS

Brothers & Sisters,
Good morning. I have been blessed to teach at C.C.S. the last two years. I have also enjoyed being able to write articles to you about our class. Today will be the last day of school. This is a happy time, as well as, a sad time for me. I reflect on the great experiences, challenges, and fun that God has given me. It is hard to see students move on without knowing how many pieces to their lives' puzzles I have filled. May the God of grace, peace, joy and love fill us with the overflow of His Spirit. As the school year ends, please continue to keep the staff, parents, students and school board in your prayers. May God bless all of us as we strive to follow His leading.

In Christ, Arrty Rude
