Family News September 7, 2003 Short BY STUFF DAVE SHANER The Prayer Garden is coming along very nicely. Rick & Janet Blanchard, Georgette Rude along with a host of others have put untold hours into the construction of the Prayer Garden. If you have not been out to view what is going on, do so today. I have personally had several people from the community ask me about what is happening. One said, 'It looks like you are building a moat. What are you really building?' I laughed and said that, 'We will have a running stream if that counts, but it is a garden of prayer and you need to use it.' He agreed and said he would stop out sometime for the grand tour. There is already a beautiful fire pit for devotionals, a the tomb of Jesus, some beautiful flowers, and as well as a sprinkler system installed. Other sites are going up quickly. In view of this, we would like to take up a collection next week to get the remainder of the funds to finish what is needed. Our goal is $6,000. If everyone would pitch in, this could be reached easily. We would like to ask that whatever you decide to contribute that this be in addition to your regular contribution. We still have our regular ongoing expenditures to meet as well. Please keep this project in your prayers and give some thought this week about how much you would be willing to help out with in this very worthwhile project. Some have questioned the need for a garden of prayer in the first place. Ralph Crump, one of our shepherds, gave us some excellent reasons why this is a project worthy of your support. Some of them include the following:
You can pray anywhere, anytime, but if this is something that can help anybody to approach God more often, it is worthy of your consideration. New Bible Classes ..... see schedule below! Have a Great Week! Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14
Great News! New Births!!!! Nathan Evans, a student at NIC from Superior, Montana, was baptized into Christ in Lake Coeur d'Alene last Tuesday night after several weeks of study with Mike Reeves. It will be a little hard for you to get to know Nathan because he is quiet and shy, he always goes home on weekends, and he works on campus on Wednesday nights. Let's all try to help him feel welcome into God's Family....maybe send encouragement cards or a college 'care package'. His NIC address is: 518 College Dr., Box 56, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 Phone # 665-0804 CONGRATULATIONS NATHAN! Chris Dehlbom, an eighth grade student here at CCS, was baptized by his dad after school Friday. There are bottomless plastics containers set into the ground so that you will know where you can plant. Please plant in the containers and do not move them. Also you can plant roses wherever you see a red flag in the rose corner. We only ask that you plant them deep. We are also looking for a volunteer to come water the garden on the weekends. See Georgette Rude. Thank you! Shepherd's Corner This Saturday, September 13, we will have a 'Think Tank' to help prepare for the future of the Dalton Gardens congregation. Many ministries have already charted a course, but as Mike Swaim said, 'It is easier to guide a moving target.' The church here has had its ups and downs over the last few years. Obviously, we prefer the ups, but our primary goal is to make sure that our direction and plans are pleasing to God and promotes both numerical and spiritual growth. For example, it is exciting to have several new people baptized into Christ recently. We would like to have a broad discussion such as, 'What does it take to bring a person to maturity in Christ and what can the church do to help bring that about?' We desire your input and participation. Please be here at 9 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served. Lunch (pizza), if it goes that long, will also be served. We want to chart a long-term plan for outreach, education, and staffing needs, among other items. Please come to pray and discuss the most important of all works, the kingdom of God on earth. In fact, can you honestly think of anything that should take priority over the development of your knowledge of, and relationship with God? I can't. I know there are many avenues through which this growth can take place, and we should take advantage of as many as possible. But for centuries elders of the Lord's church, including our present shepherds, have used various structures of Bible classes to 'feed the flock'. However, in order to be fed, one must come to the table. The feast is spread for this fall as follows:Sunday Mornings 6mo.-2yrs. Jo Allen Nursery Wednesday Nights Cradle Roll

CCS CORNER SCHOOL NEWS God Will find A Way God Will Find a Way, Where There Seems to be No Way; Won't God find a way for us! He will find a way if we show we are willing. We need to show God we are willing to serve Him.' To do what He wants us to do. There is SO much to do for His kingdom. So much to do! We need to serve others without thought of gain or self! (I John 2:6). But, we must realize and be ready for persecution. When we serve Him, it often is close behind (John 13:16). God will find a way for us when we are excited and fervent about spreading His Word (Mt 28:19-20). He will find a way when we show that we are sensitive to others needs and show compassion. (I John 3:18) To be a servant to God is to follow Him wherever He leads us. We will, also, enjoy the love, joy, and blessings that God gives us for following Him. We have prayed and prayed as have many of you, for our family, for school growth and funding. We have had a blessing placed upon us with the current enrollment for 2003-2004 school year. CCS is continuing to succeed as we strive to grow physically as well as spiritually. We have openings in our K-5, 1st, 2nd, and Jr. High. Thank you for your participation and financial support!
