The congregational meeting last week was very well attended and your response to this was very positive. It is the elders' goal to have these meetings at least 3 times per year. These meetings are for the purposes of communication and to gather input from you. However, you do not have to wait for a formal meeting to give your input on any matter. Most suggestions or comments can be addressed to the deacon who is in charge of the particular ministry. If it is something that needs to involve one or more of our shepherds, you may contact them at any time. They meet as a group regularly and are available for visitation in your home.

Be sure to check your mailbox at the church building every week. Many items are communicated through that medium. It is also a great way for you to send a note or card of encouragement to someone that you appreciate. The scriptures are filled with verses relating to encouragement. 'Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. - I Thessalonians 5:11. 'But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.' - Hebrews 3:13. 'Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.' - Hebrews 10:25.

Our camps start next week. We have some great offerings for grades 3 through high school. Music Camp starts with Mike Reeves directing this session June 15. It is not too late to enroll for this camp. Dave Shaner directs Junior Camp (grades 6-8) on August 3-9. Currently he needs some help for both counselors and cooks. This is a very enjoyable experience. If you would like to help, please see Dave. There is also a Senior Camp, an All-Teen Camp and a Preteen Camp. You may pick up registration forms at the kiosk. You save $30 by registering at least 2 weeks early. This is done to encourage preregistration so that adequate food and supplies can be purchased.

Summer is upon us. We live in a beautiful area where many spend a lot of time outdoors. The church is hosting several outdoor activities. Be sure to make your church attendance a priority as your summer goes along.

Have a Great Week!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

We need to leave immediately after worship, so please come early enough to have your stuff loaded on the bus before worship! We're gonna have a great week praising God. The following is one of the songs we will learn:

THE NEW 23RD

Because the Lord is my shepherd
He is everything that I need
He lets me rest in meadows green
And leads me beside the quiet stream
He keeps on giving life to me
And helps me to do what honors him the most
Even when walking through the dark valley of death
Valley of death
I will never be afraid for he is close beside me
Guarding, guiding all the way
He spreads a feast before me
In the presence of my enemies
He welcomes me as his special guest
With blessings overflowing
His goodness and unfailing kindness
Shall be with me all of my life
And afterward I shall live with him
Forever and ever
In his home
Forever in his home

This is a beautiful, musical rendition of the Twenty-third Psalm, only one of the new songs we will be learning at Music Camp. Our lives will be enriched, and we'd like to share that with you. All our new songs will be presented in a special program on Friday night at 8 o'clock. You are invited!

CCS CORNER SCHOOL NEWS

Closing with Promises By Dan DuPey

The school year for 2003-2004 is now behind us! I want to remind you, as part of God's family, that this mission work has been a success. It has been a great year with many wonderful memories and kind activities from generous Christ-centered hearts. We have received new playground equipment and computers. We have a serious, motivated parent group. We have students and parents interested in God's Word and the direction of His school.

Promises, promises. Have you ever heard someone say, "I promise, I will do that" ? Sometimes we see a fulfillment of that statement, but often not. Companies promise to stand behind their products. Project groups promise to deliver products on specific dates and times. Parents may or may not promise to do this or that. Children promise to obey their parents if only the parents will do this. As a school we believe in God's promise. We often remind our students that God has promised us something very special if we are obedient and strive to follow the example that He set.

We know God has propelled us. He has given C.C.S. that new strength this year to focus on the future and not on the past. He has guided us with a focused direction. He has enabled us to be filled with excitement and given us a great year. God keeps His promises when we rely completely on Him! We have already matched enrollment for next year with the current enrollment! That is exciting. God has given us (The Church) a great mission avenue, a great tool, a field ready to be harvested. We are planning and organizing now for next year! We promise to continue what God has led us to do, and we welcome YOUR involvement to help with our continued success! Thank-you Church. And, we are always thankful for the help and participation of Mike Reeves (singing), Dave Shaner (Math), Kim Howard (second secretary!), and many others who have helped on a daily and weekly basis to make this school a success! Thank you Church again!

Your Help is Needed!

On Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. the 4th of July Parade Float Committee Meeting will meet at the school picnic area to help plan all aspects of our float. Kids are welcome. Last year's float won 2nd place and this year we want to win 1st. This is great exposure for our school and we need all the help we can get. Please join the fun by helping in any way you can. Any time you help will be appreciated. For more information contact Patty Welter (773-8673) or Teri Gallus (659-3608).

Parents, remember it is your responsibility to please keep your kids off the dirt berms in the prayer garden. Thank you!
