STUFF  Dave Shaner

The special 'Desperate for God' seminar with Joe Beam was one of the best series that the Dalton Gardens church has ever hosted. There were visitors from Canada, Washington, and North Idaho in addition to our local guests. The attendance held up and got better as the series progressed. A special thank you to Alyssa Frahm, Kathy Taylor, Laura Utter, and Austin Shaner for helping out with the childcare. We also wish to thank all those who hosted Joe for a meal. What was special was the emphasis on learning to fall in love with God. This is needed by both the church of the Lord and those who need to come into a saving relationship with Him. Joe can come into a setting like this and prick our conscience and awaken our senses, but the real success of what was done is yet to be seen. Can you take the principles that were taught and make them a regular part of your daily life? Let's make a special effort to encourage each other day after day to follow through on our commitments each of us has made to the Lord. The apostle Paul, in Ephesians 6 says, 'because the days are evil.' With that in mind, we must be diligent to not drop our guard, to keep our swords (the Word of God) sharp, and to pray in the Spirit at all times.

In talking about how the Spirit of God works in our lives, Joe mentioned there are three things that will enable us to grow in our relationship with God. One is the Word of God. Anything that contradicts His revealed Word is not from the Father. His Word is given for our benefit and instruction so that we may be thoroughly trained to do good works. Another is asking God for Wisdom. James 1:5 tells us that if anyone lacks wisdom, he is to ask God who gives it freely. There are a multitude of life's situations that requires wisdom from God. A third area of growth in our relationship with God is that of recognizing the Wakenings that happen in our lives. This is simply an understanding that God works in our lives everyday and causes all things to work together for our good. All of these are gifts from God because of His great love for us. We love because He loved us first, because God is love. How are you doing?

Have a Great Week!!

His intent was that now , through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 3:10-11

Shepherd's Corner

THE MAN WHO MOPS THE FLOORS

The person who voluntarily mops the church building hallways and kitchen for the weekends has been known to be missing in action a few times. You see, the man who holds many other things as well........

He holds you up in prayer.

He holds his family up in prayer.

He holds me up in prayer.

He holds my hand when I have chemotherapy.

He holds my head when I can't hold it up myself.

He holds me up when I can barely walk on my own. I hold him up to you. Love, Shari Swaim

Gone Again!!!

Sometimes I almost feel like I need to apologize for being gone so often, but such is the nature of youth ministry. I know we have left a big hole in the attendance here again today, but we are not absent, only meeting in another place. Our love for this special church family is always here. This weekend we have been having a wonderful time of fun, fellowship and spiritual growth at our Mid-Winter Retreat at Camp Prince's Pine. Please pray for our safe trip home this afternoon. And thanks for supporting us, and allowing us special times to teach and strengthen the younger part of the family.

MIQVAH 2002

23rd Annual Youth Rally

'Living The Dream of Jesus'

March 15 - 17

Remember last year? The pyramid? How could we forget?!!! Yes, last year we built a huge pyramid.....this year we plan to build a church!!...in the hearts of Christian kids. Actually we hope to strengthen, in the lives of our young people, the church that Jesus died to build 2000 years ago. Our culture has so confused the concept of Christianity that many have rejected the idea of 'church'. They have forgotten that the church is 'the bride of Christ', 'his body', 'his family', his dream! You cannot fall in love with Jesus without sharing his passionate love for his church.

Our second MIQVAH mail outs have been sent to area congregations with registration forms attached. We must start preparing in earnest for a great group of teens and youth leaders who will be here to share the weekend with us. Church Family, we will need your help for housing our guests, and other tasks as well. Your servant hearts are always appreciated. This is a great time to share the blessings from God with others. Pray for God's blessing on MIQVAH 2002, and be ready to allow Him to use you.

Help Please!

Some of our kids going to the Leadership Training for Christ Convention in Phoenix need help raising funds. If you have any work they could do please call Mike Reeves or Kim Frisk. We truly appreciate the help that has already been given.

Santa Claus is BACK!!!

Thanks to someone's generosity, we now have a pool table for the youth center (Bus Barn). All we need now are cue sticks and balls. Anybody else want to help?

Friendship

Friendships can last a lifetime.... It's like the lyrics of a song.... 'Friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them.' I have made a few friendships here at C.C.S./Dalton Gardens Church that are of this type. They accept me as I am, but at the same time they want me to grow.... They challenge me to live as Jesus did....

And I too challenge them.

As a teacher, I am also a special friend to the children.....

Teaching is challenging...I pray daily that I may guide these little ones as God would have me...Last week I shared God's word about the times when Jesus called his apostles. They were a special group of Jesus' friends, chosen for a special mission... They were not the richest, wisest, handsomest lot..., but then Jesus was doing as His Father willed.... And the Father is more interested in our hearts than anything! How will we know each other's hearts? I want to be the kind of person that provides and encourages an environment of love and trust.... I want the children to come to me without fear.... I want them to know that God loves them unconditionally. I want to do what the Father wants because I'm living and loving through Jesus Christ, His Son. Keep us in your prayers.... for our work of love.

100 Days of School

Kindergarten and first grades celebrated 100 days of school last Friday. The lunch was really interesting....

Hot dog octopi with blue Ramen noodles with a side of purple or green ketchup! It was more appetizing for the kids than the adults serving them.....We made posters with 100 things and first grade had a contest for counting accurately. Ara Fromm was the winner with exactly 100 things on her poster. We had a great time!
