A new year is now at the door and waiting impatiently to get in. Don't forget about the New Year's Eve Fellowship starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be lots of food, games, singing, and a huge bonfire to bring in the year. Ken & Bobbie Neubauer, along with George & Joanna Wuest have worked hard to involve a lot of people and to make this the best kickoff to a new year ever. Be sure to see the accompanying article for further details.

Starting off the new year in a big way can be just a prelude to what can happen with the work of God's church here in this area. There is a lot of difference in opinion on how goals should be set. But I would like to encourage you to try, with God's help, to lead at least one person to Christ in the year 2002. You may even start off with bringing them to the New Year's Eve party. Let's also seek to be more loving and caring toward each other and toward our neighbors. A comment was made recently asking if we were a 'maintenance church' or a 'go-get-em' church. We have had a number of baptisms, particularly over the past few months, and I believe that we are heading in the right direction. At the same time, we must never be satisfied with where we are. We need to be content in our relationship with God, but as long as there are unsaved people, the Lord desires us to bring them to Christ. However, ask that same question of yourself. Are you a maintenance type of person or one that actively seeks out others. It may or not be a 'Bible study'. It may be that cup of cold water, an invitation to church, some caring attention when your friend is in need, but whatever you do, do it in the name of the Lord. Continually keep Him in the forefront of all that you do. Seek to lead someone to the Lord on purpose. The Great Commission of Jesus asks us to go ... let's go on purpose. At this time next year, let's look back and know that at least one person is in the kingdom because I cared.

Have a Happy New Year!

'A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.'

John 13:34-35

Going and Growing,

New Year's Eve Party!!

Let's Party!

The New Year is finally here,
and it's a special time of year.

We all make plans of things to do,
I do myself, now how about you.

We're going to change, as a matter of fact,
So let's all change the way we act.

We hear so much about repentance,
let's start now with our attendance.

Fast and Big this church will grow,
You find the time to make it so.

Jesus said " Love one another,"
So you have to know your brother.

You have lots of chances I believe,
and you can start this New Years Eve.

We'll eat at 7:00 pm, then we'll party. Each family should bring a desert, the main dish will be provided (Mexican). So start the New Year off right with 100% attendance of the fellowship activities. Everyone starts the New Year with a new attendance record. If you would like to help or if you have a question,

Congregational Meeting

There will be a meeting of the entire congregation on January 13th at 3 pm. The purpose of this meeting is to share the new year's budget with the congregation, and to share some information about some new activity ministries that we would like to use. One new ministry is called the 'Stephen Ministry' which is a ministry that seeks to equip Caring and Sharing attitudes and techniques to non-professional counselors. There is also a new involvement ministry that encompasses our 3 ministries....Win, Mature, and Knit. There will also be a time for input from the entire body as to directions we would like to go. Make your plans to be present. To encourage maximum participation at the congregational meeting, the Sunday Evening Bible Study Groups will not be meeting.

Game Night

Do you like to play board games, card games, dominos, etc? Be sure and set aside the second Friday of each month for this. We're planning a big turnout and lots of fun and, of course, how could we possibly get together without FOOD? Please bring snacks and drinks; we'll put them all out and nibble as the hunger pangs strike. Please bring any games you like to play. If you are a family with children, come and bring the little ones. Just be sure to bring an activity for them so they will have fun and supervision while you are having your fun. The first game night will be Friday, January 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the kitchen area. For more information, call Betty Williams, 762-4485.

Thank You!

I wish to thank the Dalton Church Family for their prayers, cards, and calls during my recent illness.

God Bless Love, Ralph Crump

Thanks! For all the prayers!

New Year's Resolutions

Among the things you resolve to do in the coming new year, I pray that you will place a strong, solid commitment to attend Bible classes at the top of the list. I appreciated Don Rude's exhortation from the elders for each of us to participate in Sunday morning and Wednesday night classes, and a Bible study group. We cannot grow spiritually if we do not feed the spirit. So, raise your right hand and repeat after me......I Mike Reeves (insert your name)........; resolve before God........; and my church family as witnesses.........; to faithfully and punctually attend Bible Class.........; and a Bible study group..........; regularly / consistently..........; during the coming year.

This would probably be the most important decision you make for you and your family this year. It holds wonderful promises for both now and for eternity.

Teens, along with the above resolution to .....be in Bible Class ... on time ... with your Bible in hand ...., I hope you have carefully examined the proposed calendar of youth events for the new year, and made a commitment to be an active part of the Youth Group. I recommend that you sit down with your parents and decide to participate in as many activities as possible. Consider the fees, and commit to earn your share of the costs for the different activities. Prayerfully consider each event, and make solid commitments in advance, thus giving spiritual priority to your life plans for the year. With these priorities firmly set, you will be able to say 'yes' or 'no' to other activities that come along without jeopardizing your spiritual growth or feeling guilty about your choices. I challenge you to try this method, and make your New Year's Resolutions with Christ in mind.
