Our annual MIQVAH youth rally is only two weeks away! The teens have been working hard to insure its success. Be sure to encourage your junior and senior high students to be a part of this. I would also like to encourage you to keep some teens and/or chaperones in your home. There are also a multitude of other ways that you can help. See Mike Reeves or Scott Rouse on how you can assist. A special pyramid event is planned that your teenager will not want to miss out on.

My father was in the military and therefore my family moved frequently. We lived in Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, Main, Rhode Island and Wisconsin. It was difficult to make friends when you move so frequently. When I was a teenager, one of the things that they made sure of was to make available to me as many opportunities as they could for me to be around Christian teenagers. This included attending both youth rallies and Christian camps. It was through these opportunities that I gained lifelong friendships. It was also because of these that I found out about Christian colleges. I had always wanted to be a preacher, but these opportunities put me in touch with how to make that dream a reality.

We are instructed in scripture to be in the world but not of the world. Obviously, if we are going to impact the world for Jesus, we must be able to get along well with others who are not a part of the Christian faith. It is important to be able to have friends with whom we can influence for Christ. At the same time, we need to be able to recognize that our friendships influence us greatly either for good or for bad. Therefore, our closest friends need to be those with whom we can receive encouragement to live out the Christian faith. These close friendships need to be formed in the church. Whether it is Christian education, Christian camps, or special events such as youth rallies, we need to take advantage of these so that our youth can be in an environment that will encourage Christian maturity. We will likely have around 200 teenagers from churches throughout the Northwest for our youth rally. It will be a chance for your teen to be able to renew old friendships and develop more while learning more about what the Bible says about specific topics gauged to their interests. Keep all of them and the youth rally itself in your prayers.

Have a Great Week!!

There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called -- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. - Ephesians 4:4-6

Bible Study Groups

A new Bible Study group will be starting in March in Post Falls, on Sunday nights, taught by Dan and Jodie Martinez. If you would like to be a part of this study please contact either Dan (773-3891) or Dave Shaner( 772-0541). This study will have younger children involved. Of coarse, there are many other Bible Study Groups meeting throughout the community. We would encourage you to be actively involved in one of these studies. A listing of these can be found on the back of the bulletin.

LEADERSHIP PRAYER

There will be special time of prayer this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the small auditorium at the church building this is primarily intended for the elders, deacons, and preachers. However, anyone is welcome to join them at this time. The leaders in the various ministries will be praying for one another and for God's blessings to be upon them. There will also be a time for special requests. If you have a need that for which you would like to have the leaders pray you may either write it on your attendance card or simply let one of the elders know. Your requests are prayed for every Sunday during the elders meeting and by the staff during the week. The first Sunday every month, however, will be designated a special time of prayer for all the leaders. If you are not able to attend we would like to encourage you to spend some time in prayer wherever you are on behalf of the leaders.

Can Christians Believe and Still Have Fun?

We often hear friends, neighbors, and relatives discussing with each other how much fun they have living "IN" the world! They are often heard quoting a phrase, "Eat, drink, and be merry!" But, they leave part of it off.

What is going to inevitably happen to ALL of us eventually? We die! Christians have ample reason to enjoy life. James urges us to sing songs of praise with those who are happy. Are you happy? It was good to gather together Wednesday evening and sing some old beautiful songs..reminding us of days gone by! Paul said to "Rejoice in Lord Always...and again I say...Rejoice!" Phil. 4:4. Imagine, as God creates the world, the beauty that He sees! He says that it is GOOD and rests. We are to stop from our busy schedule each week. We need to reflect on what He did. We are to reflect on what He gave us! We are to reflect on what we can do for others! And, we are to reflect on what we have waiting for us!

We have a reason that is SO important to be happy. We have something that is so important waiting for us. We have something that is so important to share with others about our happiness! It is a reminder to all of the staff at the Christian school how important and rewarding it really is to work with His children! Each day brings us closer to God because of His children!
