Links for God! Jesus came to seek and to save the lost - Luke 19:10. Jesus is the ultimate link. The scriptures call him the only mediator between us and God. The only reason that we can approach God is because Jesus has removed the barrier of sin that kept us away from him. Individuals may intercede on another's behalf via prayer and encourage others to go to our mediator, Jesus. God has asked us to be his ambassadors on earth. In other word, we are living in a land that is not our real home. We are citizens of heaven. While we are on earth, we are to represent our real homeland and our king. Thus, God has asked you and me to be his co-workers - II Corinthians 6:1. Let that sink in for a moment. The creator of the universe, the Lord God Almighty has asked you to be his co-worker! He needs your cooperation in the message of reconciliation. He has asked us to be links to lead others to Christ. There are people in your life that you may be their only link. Look for opportunities to put in a good for for Jesus. Jesus has promised that if any person seeks him that he will find him - Matthew 6. Be that link between someone else and the Lord. We distributed links to put on your Cockney to help remind us of our mission. If you did not get one, there are extras available in the office.

We would like to give a special bouquet of roses to Monica Keough who has served as a secretary with the church for the last 3 years. She is taking a different job that will allow her more freedom from her present taskmasters. She has been a very cheerful, reliable, faithful co-worker in the ministry here. She helped with everything from keeping the preachers in line, to handling the financial books, to on-the-spot counseling, to general communications, along with her general duties. I know that the Lord has even bigger plans for her. When you show faithfulness in one area like she has, the Lord responds with even greater trust. We will miss her dearly, but know that whatever she does, she will influence others for the Lord. Be sure to let her know how much you have appreciated her.

Have a Great Week!!

In the
morning, O Lord,
you hear my voice...
I lay my requests
before you and wait
in expectation.

~ Psalm 5:3

Thank You From My Heart

I was hoping to have room in this, my last bulletin, to be able to share how much I appreciate my church family here at Dalton Gardens. Then I thought, hey, you can make room.......how much trouble can you get into.......now?

When I moved up here, 20 years ago, I was young, single, and starting on a new beginning of my life. I was blessed to work the first few years along side a very Godly woman, Barbara Hampton, who along with her husband, Don, a former elder here, took me under their wings and made sure I knew Dalton Gardens was my home and family.

Now many years, and many more wings later, I never dreamed I would be working as the secretary. Nor did I dream I would have one husband, two sons, one dog, one cat, two goldfish, and a praying mantis, either!

I want to express my thank you to the church for letting me grow as I served you as secretary. Little did you know, you served me in a much greater way. Thank you Teri DuPey for all the flowers, food and encouraging notes you've placed on my desk. Thank you Shari for the hugs, cards & gifts. Thanks Bob Brown for restringing my blinds so many times, and shampooing my carpet, and for whistling while you worked! Kathy Morse for the 8:00 a.m. mochas & Earlene, for those 10 a.m. Pepsi runs, thanks! Jan & Jim Almond, thanks for copying tapes, painting my office, and numerous other jobs. Thank you all who stopped by with best wishes, there were so many of you. Thank you elders for your unending patience, especially with me! For your encouragement by your growth in the Lord, as we all strived to be more like Jesus. And a special thank you to my cohorts, Dave & Mike. We have laughed, cried, and prayed together. Mike not only kept my flowers alive (Jordan is hoping he makes house calls), but he was my sounding board. I knew I could share, and he knew in my words, the "wheat from the chaff". And finally, Dave, what can I say? He is my brother. He and I go back a very long way, ever since he stole my college roommate away from me, and married her! What sweet revenge, becoming his secretary! In all honesty, if it weren't for Dave (and Kathy), I most likely wouldn't be your sister today. It has been good to work alongside such a Godly man, who loves the lost and the Lord. Dave, thank you for helping me to grow and to strengthen my faith. I love you all! Monica

Mike's Memos

It is wonderful to see activity, excitement and enthusiasm begin pumping in the youth group once again. After our summer slump....which included some awesome camp sessions and a fabulous mission experience in Honduras for some of us.....we are now getting some good "togetherness times" going again.

We had an excellent outing at the Fredricksons on Spirit Lake last Thursday evening. The boating and tubeing, the food, and the singing were the best. This week on Thursday night we enjoyed prayers, a few songs, and some very good discussion time at mine and Earlene's house. At this writing, we are looking forward to games and pizza at the Bruners on Saturday night, and next Thursday night we'll be at the Schild's house. Our Sunday morning class in the Bus Barn, and the Wednesday night class taught by Arrty Rude are very special times to learn, and to glorify God by being there to share with and encourage one another.

I'd really like to encourage all the teens who have not been a part of these great times together, to come join in. Let's everybody encourage one another to share our lives of worship at every opportunity we have to be strengthened and to strengthen others.

If anyone would like to volunteer to host a youth event....Thursday night "Q n A..Sing & Pray ", "Saturday Night Together" or one of your planning at your home or special place, please let me know.

Don't forget LTC registration tonight in the small auditorium at 5:30.

I don't want to, but I guess I have to say goodbye to Monica as our secretary. She is an awesome friend, and her helpfulness to me in the office will be sorely missed. We have shared many tears of joy and of heartache over the family here at Dalton that we love so much. Her beautiful Christian spirit and influence will continue to touch us all. My prayers continue with her in her new job, and with her family at home.

Secretary Position Still Open

The church secretary position here at the church is still available. If you are interested, see Dave Shaner.

Grandparent's Day

~The students enjoyed seeing the grandparents in chapel and around the school. We would like to do more things like this! We heard some nice comments from many of the adults.

~Student Council........Elections will be soon for all offices.

~ Reminder that the shirt orders are due this Friday.

1. It is time to get serious in Mr. D's class.

Each student is planning a report on a specific Indian tribe. They will be using materials from God's world (grasses, barks, papers, cloth, etc) to organize and complete their project. They are also working on specific travel with the Explorer story. The students are helping in Chapel and learning memory verses.

2. Mrs. Simpson

The first week of school was great! I have a very nice group of 3rd graders. For Grandparent's Day" the students learned a new song called "Grandma's House" and wrote letters to their grandparents. They are learning about Columbus, Helen Keller, Continents, a song with sign language, Isaiah 9:6, Declarative and Interrogative sentences, and the nervous system.

3. Mrs. Morse's class

They are starting right away with PHONICS drills and learning the basic social skills needed for an effective environment. They have Reading time, Math drills, memory verse, centers, Art, and Science.

4. Mrs. Dupey's class

The students brought photos of their grandparents and shared them. Mrs. Dupey read "Making Memories" for Grandparent's Day. She enjoyed seeing all the grandparents in the classroom. What does the heart say? The class is learning about what God wants us to feel in our hearts. The class is also making the Chinese symbols for "joy". They are on the hallway outside the door.

5. Music class has started for the whole school!

6. Mrs. Nelson's class

It was a great first week! Their theme was "Discovery"as they learned about the Americas and about using observation in Science. They enjoyed singing to the grandparents in chapel and writing paragraphs about them. These paragraphs will be part of their Identity books which include chapters about different parts of themselves. They are on display in the hall this week.

~Tutoring. Our on-site tutoring has started with Warren and Lynn Brown. 12:45-2:00!

~We're also thankful for "Larry's Lines"!!
