July 9th, 2000 SHORT By STUFF DAVE SHANER The Teen Honduran Mission Team left last Friday. There are 13 from here who are teaching and working with the church in Honduras. In addition to them, a team from Russellville, Arkansas will also be working with them. They will be teaching Vacation Bible School to children, delivering various medical and other basic supplies, building housing, and give any kind of assistance that they can to the brethren there. They will be returning on July 17. Be sure to keep them in your daily prayers. Ralph and Anna Crump have also left as missionaries for a 4 year work in Nigeria, Africa. They are spending a few days in Portland, Oregon with their son before leaving for France en route to Nigeria. Ralph will be training preachers by teaching in a preaching school. Anna will be teaching as she practices her nursing skill in the Nigerian Christian hospital. They will likely be home for a visit in two years. Ralph & Anna will be communicating with us regularly via e-mail. They would love to hear from you as well at nchwhit@phca.linkserve.com. There will also be a link on our web page if you desire to e-mail them from there. Our web site is www.dgchurch.org. You will also be able to access Jerry, Pam, & Levi Sizemore in Russia as well as David & Becky Reeves via this site as well once they arrive in Togo, Africa. David & Becky are currently in France learning the French language at a special language school. Our annual Vacation Bible School here in Coeur d'Alene will be coming up July 22nd. We are trying something different this year in that the VBS will only be for one day. This has been tried very successfully in other communities. Many people will allow their children to come for one day whereas their may be some reluctance to come for an entire week. There will classes for all ages 3 years old through 5th grade plus there will be an adult class. If you are able to volunteer some time either as a teacher or a helper, be sure to see Kathy Morse. If you are available and not working in the VBS, be sure to come and be a part of the Bible classes! Have a Great Week!! "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true" Acts 17:11 From the family who meet at Dalton Gardens! If you are visiting, please know that you are our special guest today!!

A Moment Of Humor "A joyful heart makes a cheerful face" Proverbs 15:13 BEING JESUS A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5 and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake...I can wait.'" Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!" PICTURE OF GOD A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they drew. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "but no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, "They will in a minute."
Mike's Memos Our Honduran Mission Team consisting of: is indebted, first of all to God for granting us the opportunity to serve Him in a very special way. Secondly, we are indebted to family, friends, and our church family for your encouragement, prayers, and the financial support needed to make this mission experience a reality. We covet your continued support and prayers as we travel to LaCeiba, Honduras, and spend a week teaching Vacation Bible School to the Honduran children, helping with various work projects and humanitarian relief efforts, and sharing fellowship and devotional time with the teenagers of the Barrio Majia congregation. When you get this bulletin, we should have met for worship with the church here, finished our lunch, and be frantically trying to get our VBS classrooms ready for tomorrow. I get excited just writing about it. It has been quite a challenge for each of us to raise the needed $1200, but each one has reached or exceeded his goal. Praise God!! I pray God will help us live up to the challenge before us, and the confidence you've placed in us as missionaries to the people of Honduras. Please pray for us daily as we serve and as we travel, that we might accomplish the work God has given us to do, and that we may return home safely. We love you all. BIBLE CAMP / MUSIC CAMP Several of us have spent two encouraging, exciting, enthusiastic, exhilarating, exhausting weeks at Camp Prince's Pine. We are so thankful for God's awesome blessings. The sharing of his word and his songs brought us closer to Him and to one another. We were all challenged to rise above past levels of Christian commitment, and truly grow in our love and service for Him. We rejoice in the baptisms of Becky Stinson and Travis Ray from Northside, and Amanda Utter and Dawn Knife from here. "God is good....all the time." And especially at camp!!!
