July 2nd, 2000 SHORT By STUFF DAVE SHANER There are many exciting things happening here over the next few weeks. Teen Camp I and Music Camp has just concluded and were wonderful. Two more camps, Teen Camp II and Preteen Camp, are scheduled for the first two weeks in August. Be sure to send in your registration forms early to take advantage of the discount. Also, July 17, Won by One, a contemporary gospel singing group from Pepperdine University will be singing here for your encouragement. This is a Monday evening, so clear your schedule now so that you can be here. There is still a need for housing for these young men and women. Your hospitality would be very much appreciated. Ralph and Anna Crump are leaving for Nigeria on July 6. They will be with family for a few days in Portland and will be in Paris, France before actually arriving in Nigeria on July 12. They will be serving as missionaries there for the next 4 years. Anna will be utilizing her nursing skills to help the Nigerian people at the Nigerian Christian Hospital. Ralph will be one of the professors at the Nigerian Institute of Arts and Theological Studies. He will be training men to become preachers. Many studies have shown that American missionaries have had little long term success unless they train the local men to take over the work. If a missionary is there as a preacher for them, when he leaves, the work also leaves. Be sure to keep Ralph and Anna in your prayers. They would love to hear from you regularly via e-mail or regular mail (this may take two months for a letter to arrive). Their address is in this bulletin and will be included in future directory updates. We will surely miss them a great deal here. Anna has been a wonderful teacher both in individual settings and as a Bible class teacher. Ralph has taught many classes and counseled many both inside and outside of the church. Our church leaders have dealt with some very uncomfortable situations over the past few months. Be sure to keep them in your prayers as they pray with, and offer support and encouragement to those who are struggling. The church's aim is to present every man perfect in Christ - Colossians 1:28. This includes helping us to deal with our sin and offering the forgiveness of Christ whenever one comes back to the Lord. Be sure to keep our leaders in your prayers. Have a Great Week!!

Lost, Found & Lost Again! A week ago on Saturday, after the Women's Ministry day, a chrome heart with a spring snap was found during clean up and placed on Monica's desk.
