STUFF DAVE SHANERThe first His Needs, Her Needs class series has now been completed. Many of the participants have told me what a wonderful experience it was for their marriage. We wish to thank Larry and Peggy Flanagan for the great job they have done in leading this class. The next class will be starting in November. The exact date has not been set but we would like to start registering couples now. It is an eight week class and requires regular attendance. This is an interactive class, teaching great communication skills and problem solving techniques. It is designed specifically for troubled marriages, yet will enhance good marriages. In fact, the couples who feel they need no help are often the ones who benefit the most. Larry and Peggy are now "seasoned pros" and are great at making people feel welcome. We would like to start the next class with 12 couples. If you would like to be in the next class, you may pick up some registration forms from the office or from Larry or Peggy.
We appreciate Ralph for sharing with us during his seminar this past weekend. There were many "pearls" to be snatched. My prayer is that we all use them in our relationships with each other, thereby becoming better servants for Him!
We have had several physical births lately to add to our spiritual births. More babies are on their way as well. Be sure to keep our new parents on your prayer list. Who said there was only one way to grow a church. "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate." - Psalm 127:3-5
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
"Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God"
- Matthew 5:8
A Very Special WelcomeTo our guests today!
Thank you for joining us in worship to praise our God! We pray that it has been uplifting and encouraging, and that you were brought closer to God and each other.

Elisha was a "CRRAAAZY" Prophet!!!
If you don't think so, you should read the book of II Kings along with the LTC kids. It's a challenging but very interesting study. First Elisha stubbornly refuses to leave his master, Elijah's side, until he sees him go up into heaven in a whirlwind accompanied by a chariot and horses of fire! Second he divides the waters of the Jordan River by "whapping it" (Carla Rude's translation) with Elijah's cloak. Next, when the kids in Bethel tease him because he is bald headed, he sends two bears to maul 42 children. Boy, I'm glad Don and Lamont aren't like Elisha!! In chapter three he advises the kings of Israel, Judah and Edom to spend the night digging ditches in the desert so they will have water to drink! Sounds crazy, huh?! Then he tells a widow who is out of money and oil, that she can save her sons from slavery if she will borrow all the empty jars in the neighborhood and fill them with oil.?!?? Chapter four tells of Elisha raising the dead by doing CPR on a little boy, bringing him back to life!! He makes poison soup edible by throwing in a little flour, and feeds a hundred men with 20 loaves of barley bread. Sounds a little bit like Jesus. The best known part is where Elisha sends Naaman to dunk himself, not once, but seven times in the muddy Jordan River to be cured of the terrible disease of leprosy! In chapter six he makes an iron ax head float in the water! Then he strikes an enemy army blind, leads them about 10 miles from Dothan into the city of Samaria where they are trapped, then opens their eyes, feeds them a banquet and sets them free!! Yes, Elisha was a "crazy" prophet. He did everything from the mundane to the magnificent. But then, what might you do if you had a double portion of the Spirit of the Lord???!! What are you doing with the portion you have?

BARNAUL - An opportunity to assist!
In the mission field, help from home means a lot. In the foyer is a list of things the Sisemores really would like to make both work and everyday life more bearable. Please sign for what your family is able to supply.
Also, those who wish to send benevolence items, please note this e-mail response from Jerry & Pam:
A table will be in the foyer Sunday morning, October 24th. We can collect the items we want to send with Dave Shaner and Henry Acosta. Please keep these two in your prayers as they prepare for their journey.
"As for benevolence, any clothing, shoes, medicine and medical supplies that are needed can be bought cheaper here in Barnaul than in the States, so money is the best thing to bring."

CCS Student Council Report
Nathan Frisk, president of the student council, will be leading the CCS student council into many activities over the next few weeks. Oct 27th will be "Harvest Day". This is a day when the students have the opportunity to dress up in the "harvest" style; coveralls and all. They plan to visit the nursing home on Highway 95 for singing and encouragement. At the end of the month this special group will be putting care packages together for the "Magi" program. These packages will be mailed to those in need outside the U.S. (IE: Kenya, Croatia, Haiti, etc.)
