Jeff Shelton,
Youth & Family Minister
(starting in May 2010)
Jeff and his family come to us from Carlsbad, New Mexico. He
brings almost a decade of youth ministry experience,
specializing in teaching, youth outreach, Christian camps, LTC,
and music. In addition to his Youth and Family responsibilities,
Jeff will become our new Worship Leader and provide general
support for our Children Ministries. His education includes
studies from New Mexico State University, Abilene Christian, and
Lubbock Christian University.
Jeff and his wife Kara have three children. They are : Hayden,
7; Brylee, 5; and Merit, who is almost 3. The Sheltons are easy
to love, and they quickly won over the congregation with their
authenticity and passion for the Lord.
While he will participate in MIQVAH this March, Jeff’s first
Sunday teaching our youth and leading worship as the newest
member of our ministry staff will be May 14th (Mother’s day). We
are excited and thankful for the coming of Jeff and his family. |

Katrina Swaim,
Office Ministry
Office@dgchurch.org
It is not just a secretarial job to Katrina. She has turned
serving the congregation through the church office, bookkeeping
responsibilities, church publications, and assisting the rest of
the staff into a beloved ministry. Her warm smile, caring
personality, and servant’s heart are often the first impressions
formed by members and guests who visit the church office. Her
goal is simply to bless each person she meets each day.
Katrina Swaim grew up in Georgia, but fell in love with Coeur
d’Alene, Idaho, right around the same time she fell in love with
its native son, Paul Swaim. After meeting at Harding University,
living in four different states, and crossing thousands of miles
in U-Haul trucks, they settled down to the joy-filled adventure
of raising their two beautiful kids (Katie and Caleb) in the
great Northwest. In the nine years they’ve lived in Coeur
d’Alene, Paul and Katrina have come to look on the Dalton
Gardens Church of Christ as a true family — one that offers
love, a sense of belonging, support, and fun. Katrina loves
serving in the office ministry and is a very valuable member of
our church staff. |
